Primus is addicting because every single song sounds different. It's a fresh experience every time. The only thing you know going into these reactions is that the bass (and guitar and drums! First Saw Primus at The Covered Wagon bar on Folsom st. in SF. I stood about two feet from Les Claypool and was blown away watching his fingers moved like pneumatic pistons on the fret board. They did a hilarious Pink Floyd cover of "in the Flesh". Imagine Les' voice singing the lyrics in his nasal voice . "So ya, thought ya, might like, to go to the show, to FEEL the warm thrill of confusion, that space cadet glow...." Anyway, glad you dig Primus.

Seeing the joy in your reactions to Primus really warms my heart as a huge fan of Primus for over 25 years now. When I first discovered them I felt like I finally found a missing piece of my mind...and somehow became okay with the world not making sense afterwards. I just started enjoying the ride. You should react to Groundhog's Day and Over the Electric Grapevine. Both are amazing in totally different ways.

I had the honor to work for primus as a stagehand back in 2018 at Washington DC's The Anthem was a brand new venue. Primus was the second band to perform there. Foo Fighters being the venues first the night before. Primus has always been my favorite band was right up on stage with claypool, herb, and lalonde only being a few feet away from these guys play a whole show i have worked for many big bands never seen a crowd these days move like that and they have the best video screen visuals 2 ! I put those video screens together lol AMAZING

It’s great wonder what les claypool thinks about this he has to love having someone discover his band and enjoying it. In the 90s mostly metal heads Listened to primus I think that will change more over time. I seen primus at the American theater in st Louis in like 98.

Mr. Know-it-all Ballad of Bodacious (based on a true story, btw) Tradgey's a'Comin' As an amateur drummer, Primus has been one of my biggest influences. There are 3 main drummers amongst their discography, each with very distinct styles, and each one makes me want to burn my drum set.

So happy to be here with you, my guy. Story time: there was a headshop within walking distance to my parent's house and right nextdoor was a small shop called Cat's Music (RIP). My stepdad showed me a bit of Primus and I wanted to check them out for myself. I bought what I thought was a greatest hits album - I was young. Turns out it was a miscategorized DVD of all of their music videos. Holy cow that sent me down the rabbit hole... I highly suggest Harold of the Rocks, that puts the soul in solo. Primus sucks btw

Larry the guitar player was in the band Possessed before he joined Primus. They were one of the pioneers of death metal. The debut album "Seven Churches" was amazing. Larry and Les Claypool were in the thrash band Blind Illusion before they started Primus. The album "The Sane Asylum" they did was great and so underrated.

Primus was my first concert. I saw them and the Meat puppets together. Changed my musical life for sure. I suggest you go see them live. Also, you should listen to other Claypool bands (Oysterhead, Frog Brigade, etc...)

This is my favorite Primus song. As to the Captain Crunch line you mentioned, I never thought about it a ton and have no verification of this, but I always thought of the Frizzle Fry singing as an "enlightened" stoner type, and he doesn't believe in a lot, but he does believe in Captain Crunch. Ya know, munchies and all that. Can't believe you haven't done DMV yet.
