@@TommyBlazeHD I saw Hall and Oates live with Tears for Fears a few years ago and while both bands were great, I must say, T4F had the better sounding mixing and band. Hall and Oates seemed a little bit more relaxed about things (which is fine. They wanna groove, not be show-offs, and I am there to groove so let's go). It was pretty funny when they did Rich Girl. Daryll started it off just him and his keyboard like usual, then when the whole band and drums came in, the whole rest of the band was in a totally different key!! He had to stop the song and start again. It was his mistake because he started in the wrong key and the band was all technically correct. He was really embarrassed and I remember he said, "Did that really just happen? I've been doing this for how many decades and I really just did that?!" But it was funny too.

It is the truth. Just great song writers, particularly for me Hall. great song writer. The producers and vocal arrangers between him and Oates from lead and background really gave them some bangers. Oates provided just enough sway not so that Darryl didn't dive too much into rock/country... and stayed in the funk/rnb/dance lane. Maybe that is why they didn't really get the credit back then. i don't know..just talking here. love Hall and Oates, love RnB, love Rock...

I laughed my butt off when you took of the headphones and walked away - because mentally I was thinking the same thing. I was lucky enough to see them as they were one of the few bands who would come to our city. They were my first pop concert in 1982 (H2O tour) and 1985 (Big Bam Boom). I always crushed on Daryl because of that voice. At 12 years old I knew this guy had major talent. I sang most of my life - at one point my pianist was the bandleader of Duke Ellington Orchestra - and those guys are ace musicians like the guys playing with Hall. We are witnessing a LIFETIME of honing one's craft. I never thought way back in the 80s that Hall would be an even greater singer in his 60s and 70s - but this is what a lifetime of non-stop playing and singing with other musicians can do. Yes he's insanely talented but this is WORK. Love your reactions!!!! If you ever read this consider reacting to Open All Night from Hall & Oates H2O album. Underrated gem. One of my favorites of his vocals from the 80s. Peace.

I’m familiar with CeeLo, but truly it was from The Voice and a couple of singles when my kids were younger. Didn’t know he had that great voice. But year after year Daryl never ceases to amaze me that not only is he still one FINE looking man, but also he hasn’t lost any part of his voice. I’ve seen Hall & Oates in concert, and they sound even better in concert than they do on their albums, which I own every one of them. Do yourself a favor if they are ever touring near you, and go and see them. You will NOT be disappointed!!

Look at Cee Lo's version of "One On One" on this same Live at Daryll's House show, it doesn't get any better than that.Superb!!!.

Yes sir, yes sir, yes sir... I loved that you just stopped it at the 4 minute mark, and just had to take a groove breather... because I was thinking the same thing... These guys are all so damn good, just solid musicians that transcend to higher groove and brotherly love. Just all brothers in music, united for an unbelievable jam session... This is what we need more of in the world today!

I had to laugh when you were looking at the list of Daryl's house videos and shaking your head. I felt exactly the same way when I discovered the Daryl's house series I knew I'd be binge watching and disappearing down a rabbit hole for days... And I did... And I loved every minute of it.

I see where this is leading. You're gonna be one on those who goes to somebody's house (Daryl's House), and never leaves.

I remember listening to Hall & Oates "I Can't Go For That" in 1981 on Kasey Kassem's Top 40 when I was 13 years old. That music is JUST as great now as it was then! My parents were 33 in 1981 and Daryl Hall was 34! Strange to look back now and realize he was a year older than they were!

Yep, early 80s for me, too. The last time I saw them was at a festival in Brooklyn's Prospect Park in 2008. You could tell which generation was which: The Boomers cheered loudest for She's Gone and Sara Smile, The Gen Xers like myself went nuts over I Can't Go For That and Out Of Touch, and the Millennials went nuts over You Make My Dreams because they knew it from the movie 500 Days of Summer. Thoroughly enjoyable show.
