Communication is a problem to the answer (prefaced topic) (Specifically): You've got her number and your hand is on the phone (communication) The weather's turned and all the lines are down (the problem; of the things we do for love (which is the next line)) So, all we have to do is resolve the problem in communicating properly, and then we should have our answer, but it doesn't matter, because it all falls under the topic of "the things we do for love." In other words, it's the journey, and not the destination that matters.

When I was in high school/college I worked at a golf course over the summers (‘94 -‘97). There was a guy that managed the outside staff who listened to songs from this era. When this song came on he would stop what he was doing and give it full attention. The guy couldn’t sing for anything but he belted out the chorus (“...walking in the rain and the snow when there’s no where to go....”) with the biggest smile on his face. I will never forget this song nor the joy that came from him. Truly a timeless song.

I showed the video and comment and my dad laughed. He said I don't remember 10cc but she played Barry Manilow and The Carpenters non stop. I told them I know and that's why i can't help but sing alone everytime I hear them. My mom didn't believe I knew the words so she called out to Alexa to play various Manilow and Carpenters songs. Loads of great songs by 10cc. Graham Gouldman, one of the members, was already a great songwriter. He wrote hits in the 60s for The Yardbirds, The Hollies, Herman's Hermits and Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders (of which Eric Stewart was a member).

Heard this song a lot just after lunch in Jr. High, during a 25 minute break before afternoon classes started. It was a bitterly cold winter...too cold to go outside; so we would hang out in the gym and listen to tunes on the gym teacher's record player. We could bring in our 45s, and he would play them for us. This song got a lot of play!! Good times. Thanks Jamel, for not only keeping great music alive, but for helping us to keep our great memories alive as well!

I find myself out running errands and listening to the radio and then it happens.... I hear a song that I think you would just LOVE to hear and yet, by the time I get back home - I forget the song title. Dang! :D

You should checkout Rubber Bullets, Dreadlock Holiday, Wallstreet Shuffle, The Stars Didn't Show (a song about losing a music idol), and basically everything else they released. You'd also like the members' solo work, as well as Wax, which featured Graham Gouldman (10cc member) and Andrew Gold.

I was a senior in high school for this one. It absolutely moved my soul. “Communication is the problem to the answer”???? WHO has lyrics like that now??? A joyful song. Thanks Jamal.

I had no idea who sang this! Heard it a million times. Now I see I’ve been remembering the lyrics wrong. Thought it was “looking for the answer in the horizon.” 😂
