I don’t know that I would either but have friends with boats that use it and decided to try it out. Been using it for 5 years or so. Not bad stuff!

Use LA Awesome Cleaner when doing aluminum parts. It is usually sold in Dollar stores and won't harm the aluminum.

Agree, I’ve been using it for years. Also Lysol is great at removing oil and road dirt. Brush on with paint brush work it in a bit & wash off on engine blocks, transmission almost very thing under car. Detail spray and micro fiber towel to finish off any residue. If carburetor is real dirty brake cleaner pretty much removes everything. Careful if painted surfaces close by brake cleaner, lacquer thinner, and reducer destroy it.

@@genemanno1533 what Lysol are you using? I'm just familiar with the spray disinfectant Lysol.

Lysol in plastic bottle qt and 1/2 gal size. I pour it into an empty spray bottle and use it around the house and garage. It even cleans the floor in garage where cars drip oil. Lowes carries the larger bottles at economical prices.

Thank you for the great videos!!! I will be getting a new aluminum intake manifold (as cast not polished) and Edelbrock carburetor. Do you think it would be a good idea to apply the Sharkhide to a new carb and manifold to keep them looking good longer or would something else be better protection from oil, grease, and gasoline?

I suppose you could. I would contact them directly and ask to make sure the result you’re looking for is what you’ll get. The temperatures on the intake would concern me. Ask the experts and see what they tell you! I’d be interested in knowing.

Does it hurt anything if you get overspray on the internal parts?

@@alicenfred no. It’s like a clear coating so I’d for sure do everything you can to avoid it, but hosing down the carb without any thought would be a bad idea as well. My thought when I use it is to only spray the aluminum parts and tape off or remove any of the other components. Also protect the threads on the inlets, mixture screws, etc.

Yeah we’re soft. It was 70 on Friday. Right now we’re sitting on 10 with a negative wind chill! What the hell? People live in this mess??? 😂

@@MuscleCarSolutionsIt was -39 here yesterday, and -48 just a couple hour drive away, that’s without the windchill. Those temperatures aren’t just unpleasant, it can freeze your lungs if you aren’t careful. The biggest concern I have with these carburetors is the corrosive nature of these new fuels with moonshine mixed in. I’ve seen a couple of Rochester Bs and a 4150 eaten pretty bad.

@@dale116dot7 😳 I spent a few decades traveling and part of my responsibility included western Canada. I’ve lost count how many trips I made to Edmonton, Fort Mac, Anchorage. 12 months a year. Those February days were the worst. I can’t any more. I’m a pansy. 😆

Anyone in your area doing vapor blasting? It leaves a smoooth and shiny surface to alumunum. If you don't know about it, just do a KZbin search.

For the endless number of inexpensive options available for the home DIY user, I’m not sure the bill for that service is what most would choose. But hey if that’s what you want to spend your money on, it will certainly give you the results you want.
