Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime :-(!

Came over from UTG to see the new Edelbrock carb. I have been wanting to replace my old Holley 750DP for a while. I will be looking closely at the Edelbrock when I buy a new one over the winter. I like a lot of the features and it seems like this carb was really well thought out. The bowl drain is cool, I like the bleed on the main body to put more air under the throttle blades and air bleeds.

I,m sure a company of this size did their homework before investing millions in a new design of old Holley carbs . They are not unaware of the competetion market .would like to see what one does on my antique 484 FE Super Gas car , but am winning with a QFT 850 currently .would be a good idea to dump one on the market of a few Qualified Racers, let them try an 850 on diff cars to get the feedback , let the carb move around the country at diff states to see the response.

Just came over from Uncle Tony's Garage to see what he was getting all exited about, i can see why now. Edelbrock have put a lot of thought into this, using symmetrical parts (float bowls and metering blocks etc) to cut down on production costs which would allow them to invest in higher quality castings. Also being adjustable at all four corners will allow you to correct any AFR differences between cylinders caused by inconsistencies in flow through the manifold and heads. Anybody who can pick up on making the adjustability work should be able to get a fair gain in performance.

Would be interesting to see a engine dyno shootout of this series versus a Holley 4150 equivalent. Also, I gotta believe at some point a full on street version will be in the pipeline at a lower price point minus all the adjustability. Most of which isn't necessary for street driving. Very cool to see Edelbrock going to bat for traditional hot rodders.

It’s the new design venturi and boosters that are making the power for sure. Only know if a handful of tests so far but bigger power is what is being seen.
@cudaclan
@cudaclan Жыл бұрын
The taller vent tubes prevents fuel sloshing out during rapid acceleration (drag strip). In the past (old bucks as myself), you connected a fuel line from one tube to the other. A "notch" was cut in the center of the hose for venting. Defeated air-flow though. This effectively " lengthens" the factory by length. The bowls are also effectiant in straight-line launches. Fuel does not "roll -over" the floats. let's not forget about the bent "whistles".

I had an Edelbrock 500cfm on a 66 mustang for 8 years and not once did I touch the thing. Even when I would store the car for months at a time, I turned the key and it would always fire right up. For reliability, you can’t beat an Edelbrock and to see this high performance carb is just awesome.

Different application. Think of this primarily as a race carburetor. Exactly right about EFI being the must have. My next door neighbor loves telling me about his EFI and how he won't ever smell like exhaust again. Meanwhile I do some math, found some GT40 heads for $400. Another $500 to swap my 2:78 rear end over to 3:55's. That leaves $300-400 left for mid-eye leaf springs and 620 1" lowering springs if I want to go that route. Yeah I'll pass on the EFI and conservatively say I'll shave 1 whole second off the quarter mile, or a whole hell of a lot faster stoplight to stoplight which is where I really drive.

After the Holley held patent was removed, many similar carburetors with the same looks, similar features and method of function came on the market. From lawn mowers, single cylinder utility engines, air cooled Wisconsin engines, motorcycles and vehicles like my buddy's 68 SS Camaro in 71. He paid $2,800 with 58k miles on it, one owner. But, he wanted to race it on the local 1/8th tracks. I had a 68 Charger stock 318 but enjoyed more room. Pulled two engines, installed one, got $250 cash plus the car. I will say this carb has everything I would need to adjust rich or lean issues at any RPM. Nice! ASE Master 78.

A true work of art & technology, What a beauty! I gotta have one. Edelbrock has always been known to build quality parts, looks like they've done it again. As far as the logo, The whole top end of my engine is Edelbrock, So flying the company brand name doesn't bother me a bit. Perhaps choose either the side, or the front. Branding both locations is a bit much.

Me too. I grew up using holley 600's on my pickups. I bought a 76 f150 4x4 with a 390/c6 that has a edelbrock 600 on it. Ive granny driven it 3 times until i get the valves fixed but i'm giving even the old edelbrocks a chance.

This will be my next carb for my 70 340 Challenger. It has an aggressive cam and headers. I have always used Carter AVS carbs. A 750 on it now. The only Holleys I have had success with is on my GTX 440-6. Not knocken Holleys. Just I understand Carters better. Thank you for the Video. And Thankyou Edelbrock for continued advancement of the carburetor.

Something I notice looking at that "mustache" feature is that where it dips down corresponds with the notches in the middle of the float so that the fuel misses the float as it's coming into the bowl and that only fuel filling the bottom of the bowl will interact with the float and the fuel will only shut off when it's full as opposed to other things causing it to surge up and close. They did a lot of thinking on that bowl and float design, and not just the 45's at the corners of the float.

One of my other fav channels just now caught my attention to this new Carb. Anyway I've always been a fan of Edelbrock and to hear that they have improved the Carb, gets me giddy. Still got the Malibu in the shop for the SB swap over, however since there will be more time before this 4150 comes out I got's plenty of time to save for it. The 650 I think will be the best for the SB 305. With CAT delete that will put me well over 200 HP, and big ole sh*t eating grin on my face 😎.

Edelbrock has really come unto their own. Masters of the top end of ICE engines and other accessories. A true patriotic U.S. success story. I would like to see the labels come loose in the box. That way the proud owner can choose to slap 'em on the carb or on their tool box ! Also the specific part/model # should be cast into the body as well to help identify later as it becomes patinnad ! Cheers for a good GD review.

Everything I can think of in one package. The extra low speed bleed for my thumper cam does it. Should improve drive ability drastically. Edelbrock might have nailed it. Thanks for your review, cheers 🍻👍👍👍

This makes me rethink what im buying for my Strip/Street C10. The features on this carb are just endless. The price is right where I can afford it too. Ill be putting back extra $$$ for the next month or so in anticipation of the release.. Id like to see a review of the 750 so I can decide if thats what I need. Im right in between needing 650-750cfm for my engine. Thank you for the review.

Wow. Now I can finally put an Edelbrock on my 327 clone engine. That two-part Holly is a real pain. Every spring my dad would rebuild it for me. Yes I meant enough to admit that I don't know everything and carburetors along with electrical wiring cars or at my top of the I don't give a blank to blank list. For years my Dad tried to get me to go to elderbrock on that engine. I wouldn't do it because I want it when you pop the hood for it to look correct. Now I'm Edelbrock guy I've got one on my 68 CST that's bone stock except for the carburetor. Back in

I just got a 750 and it was definitely not set up at the factory to bolt on. The floats were way high and it shot fuel out the vent tubes with 4psi of fuel pressure. So, not for a guy that wants bolt on. That being said, it is an awesome carb! Very nice and the quality is excellent.

Absolutely checks off 90% percent of the mandatory boxes for street/strip use! With a Digital DSO type vacuum gage and O2 sensor system, saves time and $$$$... without EFI... manual adjustments/ old school just entered into pro level on a budget for now! Not saying technology hasn't been great... I've been a hands on guy for over 43 years this will be fun again!
