Well, I am 72 years old. Bought my first car with money I saved in Vietnam. Grew up poor and wanted my first car to be special. Bought a 1963 Vette. Was addicted. Have scrimped and worked and worked all my life to continue buying Vettes. I now have a 2017 Z06. A real special monster. FINEST CAR I have ever driven. This is my 8th Vette and likely the last. My 2010 Grand Sport, my 2014 Stingray, and now my Z06 have just gotten better and better. If u are a True American car lover, u gotta get a vette.

At 76 it was like a light bulb came on, I can buy myself a Corvette!!. 30 days later I found a 2007 C6 with 11,500 miles on it. It had been a one owner garage queen. New to me and looks new. I've had it for a year now and I haven't stopped smiling yet. It is the most cherished car have ever owned.

I find the C6 ZR1 the ultimate real Corvette. The one that still looked like a Corvette. I still think the C7 and C8 are real Corvettes. But the rear lights are signature! Some things you can’t change. Like making the Mustang an SUV.

I worked at a shop here in the US for a bit, in a rich area. I got to do simple jobs on a few very expensive cars and the corvettes were always a treat to work with because of their design. It's like Leno says, Chevy made a street legal track car that you can service in your garage. Speaking of track cars, corvettes are designed for track use unlike many sports cars I've seen under the hood of.

I think at some point it is worthwhile considering that a car isn't what the stat sheet says it is on paper but how it makes the driver feel. I have never owned anything directly American because I live in Europe and our infrastructure isn't really accommodating for exotic metal such as a corvette or camaro or mustang etc. I still smile whenever I hear a muscle car stretching it's muscles. Personally I'm glad you guys in the States build such cool and customisable cars. Keep up the good work.

In Germany, a ZR1 is 135k Fully loaded, A Gallardo in base is 180k, Same as a 911 Turbo and 458 is higher. You put together how many C6s they sold in the US alone(excluding Europe) from 2005-2013, That equals to MORE then 360s, 430s, 355s,....COMBINED in total production sales from 1994 to 2009 from Ferrari, So yeah, Doesnt matter where its sold, A Corvette may not be AS big a bargain as is is from the US, But it is THE biggest bargain per performance car anywhere in the world.

6:57 - 7:20 nicely nicely said jay. It irritates me how people disrespect corvettes... Especially the "c6" those cars are a blast and they feel like a true sports car. The c6 body style is the best corvette body ever made by far. The look of the front and rear end and body lines are just the definition of "corvette" in my opinion. personally I think a c6 zo6 is the best body ever for corvette and a C2 those are gorgeous.... as long as it's a hard top:)

Outstanding review as usual, I couldn't agree more with everything you said especially about the reliability. Back in 1999 I purchased a new Trans Am like the one you did in one of the episodes, I wound up keeping it for 5 years and not a single thing went wrong, not even a bulb went bad. Just like always I still have similar vehicles in the garage, 2005 Mustang GT and a restored 1984 Camaro Z28. No issues with those either.

It's amazing how far super cars have come since this video was made, hell, the stock, stock version of the corvette is as fast as the ZO6 when this video was made and now the ZO6 with the ZO7 package is faster than this 09 ZR1. AND. Cadillac is also more powerful. SO, it's great to be a car enthusiasts.

What's amazing is your ignorance. The C7 base corvette is NOT faster than the lighter and more powerful C6 Z06. Additionally, while the C7 Z06 has proven to be more track capable than the C6 ZR1, the ZR1 is still faster in a straight line EASY.

Thanks and you've also expertly shown quite clearly that there is merit in having different approaches to building cars and different cultural norms. In the UK we've had some real "questionable" vehicles but quirks and all for an enthusiast they become an object of affection over time. On a side note I'm always amazed about the figures produced by seemingly regular cars built by US manufacturers. For the same money we'd be hard pressed to end up with roughly a third of the power in the UK.

No dude Motor Sportz they are not probobly of the aero pack 0-300 c7s are too slow only at 0-60 0r 0-100 the new c7s have 3,1 manual and 2,95 auto and Zr1s have 3,4 . But at 0-300 Km/h Zr1s are still the fastets vettes But i'm a vette funboy and i love them all :-)

Zach Weibel those times for the porsche and gtr nismo are based on 2014. The lfa I believe was in 2012. The vett 2009. So yeah it kicked their butts at the time until, years later they caught up.

Awesome car marred by a horrible fanbase. There's more to a car than how fast an anonymous driver can swing it round the Nurburgring. So much more. This Corvette ZR1 actually makes 638hp(not 648hp, unfortunately). It was a great sports car. The last ZR1 before 2020 was a true supercar with 755hp. Both ZR1 cars are better daily drivers than the Viper ever was.

I still think this Corvette is the best looking one they ever built. Great car! I know there are bigger better and faster ones out there, but who's really going to use all of that on the street? I'd understand if it were used on the track once in a while, but man, how much power does one need for the street? I typically go backroad bashing on the windy-twisty roads with my toy cars on weekends, so this would be way more than I'd ever need. Hell, my '94 FD has more power than I really need and it's basically stock.

Hello: You rock J..The last hot car I drove was a 69 Dodge 440 6 pack car. It had 12 to 1 pop up's and 2 4" , 4 speed, Dana 60, 410. I love 60's cars. 57 Chevrolet, 69 Z. with backup lights in the body panels below bumper. I don't know why people are talking Computers on a car site....Have a Nice Day
