I was customer of Callaway turbo system from 1980 on VW/BMW & my classmate’s father had a Callaway Porsche 928 twin turbo ….and now my friend are building the exhaust tip for their C6/7…long history!

Loved the segment with Reeves reminiscing about the Alfa Romeo and start of the GM relationship. That was the pinnacle of performance cars when I was a 20-something engineer. I went to an autocross in Connecticut in the late 80's sometime, and Reeves was there. The situation never presented itself where I could talk to him, but it was great that he was in the grassroots sports car scene. Over the years, I sent resumes to Callaway Cars, but my professional experience was heavy duty engines, so nothing ever happened there. And it might not have been possible for me to move to CT.

As a former Maserati Biturbo and Alfa GTV6 owner, I just had to laugh at the story as to how the twin turbo Alfa GTV6 came into being. I had no idea about that chapter of Callaway history. And Jay was right on the money about the Biturbo - nice clock. Nice leather. What a headache. A fun headache. Now for upcoming car and video ideas - I know he's got a 2000-2002 Mercedes E55 AMG in his collection. I'd love to see a video on that - it's the car that established AMG's reputation...

Hehehe, yep the days of the biturbo and the GTV6, in the nineties you could get a biturbo for free in Italy, I had several offers to take one. In Italy car taxes are high and depend on the displacement of he engine, and since the biturbo spends more time standing still at the garage than being driven no one wanted them even for free. GTV6 and virtually all the alfas except maybe the 164 were good. The 164 had bad electrics on many cars, but nothing close to the serial breakdowns of the biturbos.

Callaway has always been way ahead in modifying cars for HP and handling performance. I drove a 1991 ZR1 Twin Turbo back in 1992. It really blew me away in how it performed but still looked stock. This Aerowagon looks cool. 757 HP..!! and gobs of torque. Great job Reeves.!!

Callaway builds very cool stuff and their supercharger work on the C7 Stingray and the Z06 is extremely professional. Probably the only tuner car I would ever consider. Jay said that people would love or hate the Aerowagen mod (which you can get on your current car w/o the supercharger unlike other Callaway work which is only on new vehicles) but I am actually pretty neutral on it. On the plus side, it looks well-integrated and nicely-detailed and gives you a different look to the standard C7. On the negative side, it is unlikely to give you much additional cargo space and you do have a modest weight limit for the trunk on a Corvette in any event. I don't know if it affects the handling much but it looks like the rear visibility is really compromised. I have a C6 and the rear visibility is quite good and all that glass gives the car a much airier feeling than what I am seeing here. I see have seen modified Corvettes so hideously ugly your eyes water but, hey, your car, your money. I enjoyed Reeves Callaway's stories and would like to hear more! Maybe Jay can get him back with one of the wonderful Callaway Speedsters. Now there was a mod!

I absolutely LOVE the idea of turning the Corvette into a mini wagon! I liked the Cadillac CTS-V wagon, as well as the Ferrari GTC4Lusso when they came out, but the price is, and probably always will be, what keeps me from realistically being able to own one, so having a more affordable American-made option has turned this (the Aerowagen version at least) into my new dream car! I'm sure it would be a lot more work since it has more surface area that would need changing, but I wonder if they could do a wagon version of the 2018 Chevy SS sedan... That would be even more affordable than this Aerowagen is, and it would have even more utility due to it's size.

Yea but 800hp over comes a little drag. That’s what the red eyes have actually a little more. And it’s a drag car not a track car or a sports car that needs lots of down force so aero isn’t as important. And it still does over 200mph how bad can it be.

It's really hard to make the C7 Corvette look bad to start with, so no harm done. I think the Aerowagen is pretty cool -- there are only a couple of angles I wasn't too sure about. Jay, how is the visibility out the back when you're driving compared to the standard coupe?

Shouldn't you be looking out of the front when driving? ;-). Plenty of sports car have crap rear vision so this would probably be no different.

Sorry Todd, I didn't write anything that would warrent a good/bad driver response. Just stated a fact that many sports cars have bad rear vision. I have a Toyota GT86 (Sion FRS). The rear high-level brake light is stuck on the rear parcel shelf and interferes with rear vision. You get used to it but that doesn't excuse the only bit of crap design on that car (according to me).
