When I heard that you were injured and had been burnt, I was in shock. I'm 66 and been a fan of yours as long as I can remember. I watch your videos on KZbin. I prayed that you weren't burnt too badly. I thought to myself you were probably burnt in your garage. I'm relieved to hear that you'll make a complete recovery. I send you my thoughts, prayers and positive energy that you feel better and get well soon. God bless. Take the time you need to recover and we your friends, family and fans will be there to watch your videos when you're ready. Cheers from Montreal, Canada.

Jay is genuinely interested in his guests, and you feel like you could approach him on the street and shake his hand. The car stuff is great , but it’s his humility and kindness that make him so special. God Bless you, Jay.

Agree, Jay is so unpretentious, he really is just one of us, the car junkies. He just has the money to go all in on his passion and then he shares his toys with the rest of us. That may be a key to his appeal, you never feel Jay is showing off, you never feel he is lording over the rest of us. It is always more like he is saying to his closest buddies (all the millions of us) "hey step into the garage, I found something cool, I think you'll like this ". Then we all stand around with the hood up swapping stories and then go for a ride together. It never feels like a "show",this intimate and only his kindred spirits are there to hang out.

I remember riding my bike through Hermosa Beach back in the very late 1980's I suppose, and I was going by The Comedy & Magic Club. There parked at the curb was a Rolls Royce with Jay Leno behind the wheel. He went there once per week to practice material he would use on his Tonight Show. Thought it was great that he would drive himself in a Rolls.

Jay mentioned a "good magneto guy" and that sent my memory into warp drive back to 1958 when I was a kid working at tossing hay bales into a wagon for a local farmer. During a break period from the hot sun, drinking cold cokes in his cool bank barn, he grabbed a hunk of metal off a shelf and held it out to me with the: "feel the weight of this thing" suggestion, so of course I grabbed it with both hands, which put my palms over the carbon electrodes on both sides of the thing - he gave the shaft a spin and I thought I'd been struck by lightning! Can still picture his glee and hear his chuckle to this day and I'm now 76 years old. Never trusted from scratch any old farmer after that. LOL

Recently got a chance to drive a Ford Model T from 1915. Never "got" old cars before but now I'm hooked. You want to talk about "mechanical feel", old cars are the definition of mechanical feel. Nothing else compares. Driving it was like an amusement park ride. This looks more advanced and conventional than a Model T. The pedals are probably in the right order as well. Beautiful car and great ticking of the engine.
