What a great tutorial. I wish you had a Cameo lol. I know how to do some things like this but I'm rusty at it. If you want to use some of the more intricate fonts, you could try cutting them with vinyl. I've heard it is much easier to do than with cardstock. I also wanted to say for anyone who plans on making scrapbook kits to sell, be careful of free font sites. Those fonts are generally only free for personal use. Read the description and the "read me" file that comes with it to see if you can use it if you are selling. Some allow it with smaller quantities. Some don't allow it at all without paying for a commercial license.

Yes, definitely easier to cut more intricate fonts in vinyl. I’ve used the on shirts. However many of them have ripped in the skinny spots after washing several times. Wouldn’t have to worry about that on layouts 😆 I like the dimension that cardstock adds, personally, but definitely an option! YES thank you for noting about the personal use for the fonts. Almost all are for personal use only.

I can not thank you enough for this lesson. I have a Mac as well and it’s hard to get information like this for Mac users. Or information I can understand. I do have a Cricut but haven’t used it a handful of times since I had it bc I don’t understand it. If I ever got a video showing all you are teaching, then they are on a PC and that’s too different. I would love you to show more on the Cricut. I’m not so tech savvy and I get confused.

Great tutorial Jayma! What setting do you use for SU! Cardstock?

I have not had great luck cutting the regular SU cardstock, but haven’t tried hard. It’s so thick and fibrous. The new two-tone is easier and I use that intricate cut setting. Once it’s available in all the colors I’ll probably just stick to that for Cricut. I think something about the white core makes it easier. Next time I try the thick cardstock I’ll try the kraft board setting…that’s what I used for the CTMH Black core CS.

I have a Cameo and I agree. SU cardstock is difficult to cut. It's easier to cut a lighter weight. The basic white is easy. But none of the colors work well. I'm looking forward to the two-tone being available in all colors.
