Fun fact! "Just add water" cake mixes were/are regularly released starting in the 50's (powdered egg, butterfat, and milk are easy to produce), but they never sell well. Consumers think that easy=low quality, so Betty et.all have you add your own eggs, oil, and milk to make you feel more involved in the baking process!

Ok short family story only because you asked. My Grandmother could not make "box" cake . When my Dad was in the Navy she would send him a cake and no one onboard the ship would eat it, they would eat the popcorn she shipped it in ( think air popped) but the cakes were so bad no one would touch them. Of course this was in the mid 60's ..... We've come a long way in packed food. Thanks for everything Jaymes you certainly make a lot of our days brighter.
