That’s a valid argument. I might just be projecting onto the character, but maybe she downplayed it? Or maybe she begged Jade not to get mad or get him in trouble? I know that that’s what I’ve done when things like that happen to me. It feels less scary to just ignore the problem and not involve any authority figures or anything. But, once again, self-projection can be common with fictional characters that we relate to/liken ourselves to, so this might just be me projecting.

This is kind of off-topic, but would you consider making a video on how the show SHOULD HAVE ended? The show was cancelled and didn't have a proper finale, so what do you think would happen in a perfect VICTORIOUS finale special/movie. I always thought it would have been nice if, at the end of the show, Trina discovered that she's not talented and had to learn to accept that and grow from that. I also thought it would have been nice to see certain characters get together. For example, I also like the idea of Jade and Andre and wish the show went somewhere with the Andre-has-a-crush-on-Jade plot. ;) It would have been cute if there was a scene where Andre sings the original version of "365 Days" (i.e. the version in which he sings "Jade" instead of "Baby") and Jade chimes in mid-song, singing Tori's parts. 1:48- 2:05 Two things... 1. That was a great innuendo. I am not even sure I can call it an innuendo. Innuendos are supposed to be subtle. That was not subtle at all. 2. Why did Robbie and Cat give the thugs their Pajelehoochos? Initially, Robbie did not want to and then Cat reminded them of the deal that they made with Sikowitz. However, when they made that deal, Sikowitz cited an exception for anything dangerous or illegal. I suppose one alternative explanation could be that they were afraid the thugs might hurt them (i.e. physically assault them). However, putting aside the fact that Robbie initially did not want to and Cat specifically said that they have to because of the deal that they made with Sikowitz, Cat and Robbie could have just retreated.

Just want to put my 2 cents In here: I believe that Rex was entirely behind the whole pirate thing. I know Robbie controls Rex, but I think Rex is just how Robbie communicates things he can’t implement elsewhere. If anything happened with pirates and Cat, I believe it started with Robbie being Rex. With that being said, I also don’t think the pirate thing was anything major. If it was, I doubt Jade, beck, or Andre would let Robbie near Cat again. Most of my observations have been covered in the comments, but i would like to draw attention specifically to the fact that cat's refusal of her feelings for him could (with the 'pirate' thing's hints at sexual assault) be because part of her feels like that means she must have liked what he did to her- and thus, she can't have feelings for him because that would invalidate her trauma. It is a very common response in survivors of sexual assault or abuse to develop feelings, especially in one where the assaulter in question is so affectionate and their age. They justify the event and trick themselves into believing it was something they should be happy about, convincing themselves that they are the ungrateful ones. Robbie's behaviour and overt favouritsm of cat, as much as it may be genuine from his point of view, is a method of grooming and attempting to coerse her into positive feelings of him. Showering people in gifts and compliments is often a response to guilt from the assaulter. They justify it to themselves as well, telling themselves theyre making up for it, or that their victim actually wanted it and is just shy. It is extemely unhealthy, and honestly speaks volumes about dan schnider if we didnt already know, since he doubtlessly pulls from his own experiences for robbie. Robbie doesnt *care* if cat is uncomfortable. Or that she flat out rejects him so often. If anything, it wouldnt surprise me if he believes she belongs to him in some way when you consider how he has responded to romantic encounters previously. The idea of the only girl he has sexually advanced with, would create the kind of obsession we see he has with cat throughout the show. Which...explains even more in regards to smaller details, like how he brought cat to meet his grandmother in a way that he would most likely believe is very romantic and generous of him. He is honestly a disgusting character, and if it weren't unintentional, i would commend the accuracy to real life sexually abusive situations. Unfortunately, the most accurate reflections of the darker side of humanity often come from perpetrators themselves.

The only reason why cat and Robbie were put together in the show is because they’re both the strangest characters of their respective genders in the cast. Aside from that I don’t think they’re compatible at all. Robbie’s creepy and predatory, cat’s naive and childlike. They have a very unsettling dynamic.

I think he had most character development. He was so weird when it came to love, sometimes the interactions felt more like assault. But it seems like he changed and now isn’t that bad although he still isn’t perfect when it comes to love, but I think it’s because he doesn’t really have a proper example, since his parents are hardly mentioned and his mom refuses to even live with him

It is 100% just a theory/audience conjecture. And, honestly, I hope that we’re wrong, because if that’s the innuendo that was intended, then that’s really very very upsetting. For me, it may also be a partial self-projection, since I relate to Cat as a character, and have had some scary experiences with guys like that. But projection and conjecture does not equal canon, so I honestly really really hope that you’re right, and that it isn’t anything as bad as what a lot of us make it out to be.

I would like to say that Robbie matured over the course of the series and his feelings for Cat were definitely real. No one writes a song like “I Think You’re Swell” without having serious feelings for someone. I think that it’s really Cat that can’t bring herself to admit her feelings to Robbie. I agree with the other person who posted below that her brother may have a lot to do with how Cat approaches relationships with other people. Based on what Car tells us about her brother, he has serious mental issues and is eventually taken by her parents to an inpatient treatment facility in another state. This would have been a good place for Cat to start on her journey to moving past whatever abuse she suffered by her brother. She seems to have a need for others to like her no matter what the cost as shown in “The Blonde Squad” when she kept up the facade of being a blonde even after finding out the guy she liked didn’t like people who pretend to be something they aren’t. Even after Robbie pours his heart out to her by singing his song she is still desperate for the other guy to like her and muses about maybe dying her hair blonde. This is after it is very clear the guy doesn’t want anything to do with her. I think that if Cat and Robbie did start dating, they would need to have a serious conversation about boundaries. I think Robbie likes Cat so much he would take the relationship at whatever pace felt right for Cat. She would have to tell him many more details about her relationship with her brother and how that factors into how she is thinking about dating him. Robbie is a patient guy, sometimes to a fault. He knows Cat is worth waiting for. Cat would definitely need some serious therapy to help her deal with her family life and perhaps by working through those issues, it would help her come to terms with her feelings for Robbie. She’s in a very conflicted place by the end of the series. As stated in this video, Cat isn’t sure she’s ready to date Robbie but doesn’t want him dating anyone else either. However, she does admit to Robbie at the school dance that she was unnecessarily jealous of the fact that he brought another date. She also said she should have just said yes when he asked her to be his date. I would want to see at least one more episode of Victorious for many reasons, but in terms of the content of this video, I would want Cat and Robbie to finally have a serious conversation about the feelings they have for each other and finally agree to start dating.

I you were forgetting one key point in this video. We can see A LOT of Robbie's inappropriate behavior through Rex. Rex is constantly catcalling, making inappropriate comments, and overall just a little vulgar at times and because Robbie is speaking through Rex we can only assume this is what Robbie is thinking or feeling. So it should come as no surprise when he acts inappropriately towards a girl he really does like. He probably has no idea of expressing that any other way.

Jade gets upset with him when she thinks that he tried to play pirates with Cat, and in the scene at Tori’s house, she makes a visibly angry/annoyed/disgusted face after Cat says, “I don’t like the way you play pirates.” But, then again, this whole interpretation is pure conjecture, and I might be projecting something bad onto it because of my own experiences with guys who have some of Robbie’s creepier tendencies. I hope that you’re right, though, because Cat doesn’t deserve to be hurt like that.

@@silvertongue.242_99 Definitely not, and I totally see what you’re saying, but I know that similar things have happened to me. It’s very situational, but with the right person getting harassed, sometimes the perpetrator gets a pass. Like, every time it happened, as frightened and upset as I was, after telling a trusted friend what had happened to get it off of my chest, I’d beg them not to say anything to the person who had done it, and I’d beg them not to tell a teacher, because I was afraid of what would happen if he found out that I told. I was afraid that he’d be angry and hurt me or tell lies about me, or any number of other things. As much as my friends tried to get me to say something, I just couldn’t bring myself to get the guys in trouble. Even when I finally told my Algebra teacher and asked her if she could just keep the person away from me, I begged her not to tell the principal or do anything that could get the person in trouble, because I was afraid, and I’d feel bad if they got in trouble just because I was uncomfortable with the way they touched me and talked to me. Because, like, I never explicitly said no(out of fear, but still), so I felt that maybe the guys didn’t even know that what they were doing was wrong, even though my body language and such was very clearly that of fear and discomfort. Now, it’s probably not canonically that deep😂😂, but yeah. It’s probably just some joke involving Cat’s innocence and Robbie’s creepiness. But what’s really concerning to me is that that sexual innuendo seems absolutely intended, yet their relationship is still portrayed as desirable and acceptable. I don’t know, Dan Schneider really was out here with the creepy stuff😭😂. I feel like the really concerning part, outside of any canonical interpretation or consequence thereof, is the real-world implication that things like that are meant to be nothing but throwaway jokes. But, I don’t know; I might just be getting up onto my soapbox about nothing. But, yeah, it’s just ehh, kind of spooky scary. I’m probably definitely getting too deep with it, though🤦🏽‍♀️😂.

I think if the series wouldn’t have been cancelled, Cat and Robbie would’ve been something. Or at least have a little more history to their relationship. I think Robbie always loved Cat for how weird she is, and sees her as extraordinary and unique in the most lovely way. Cat liked the attention Robbie always gave her, but then she discovers feelings for Robbie that confuse her. That’s why she ran away after the kiss. If I had a guy best friend and out of nowhere he kissed me I would also ran away because of how I felt and what might occur to our friendship. And I think that’s exactly what Cat felt. But since they made Tori the star, we couldn’t even see what happened after that in the next episode.

This show gives us the false sense that it is an ensemble show and all characters get to be the star of an episode every so often. This isn’t the case. It has been well established that the show is directly from Tori’s point of view which is why it looks like she’s butting into everyone’s lives even if they don’t want her help. I too would have wanted at least the B plot of the very next episode to be Robbie wanting to talk to Cat about the kiss and why she ran away. This would force Cat to confront her feelings for Robbie. By the end of the episode they would have made a decision one way or another as to whether or not they would begin dating. Of course their whole would this ruin the friendship thing would be discussed. Even if Cat told Robbie she wasn’t ready to date him, he would ask her if she would ever in the future want to date him and I would hope she would say either maybe or yes, but that she has some personal issues to sort out first (I.E. whatever her brother did to her overtime to make her wary of forming relationships with others especially romantic ones). I would also hope Robbie would say he would be there for her in any way possible. He would say something like “whatever you want me to do I will do and whatever you don’t want me to do I won’t do.” But they wouldn’t stop being friends. It would be like a less aggressive version of Freddie in iCarly having a crush on Carly but her only wanting to be friends and Freddie coming on pretty strong for most of the first season and a bit again after he and Sam break up. I know Cat and Freddie would end up together one day, they just both have to be on the same page.

I think Robbie was just a tad bit weird, and maybe a bit too weird at times for Cat's taste. But at the same time, there's genuine love between em, and love that develops over time. I think that if it had been explored more, Robbie could've learned himself to be a bit less odd, and his relationship with Cat could've gotten even better.

I've always believed the reason their weird towards each other a lot is bc they actually have done the dirty with each other at least once or more than once lol. Theres a lot of times where you can see he's trying to convince her to kiss him or come home with him so in my mind he's either just sexual harassing her and she's just oblivious as always or they've done the dirty before and he's trying to get her to do it again when she doesn't want to until eventually she does catch feelings for him towards the end. Then in Sam & Cat he gets extremely jealous of Freddy when he thought Freddy was "messing around" with her then it totally didn't help when Cat said he could have if he wanted to lol you can just tell most of their interactions together always have a sexual innuendo

I don't think Robbie has ever done anything so horrible because Jade seems to know what the deal is and the others do not seem concerned either and let's not forget that Cat can't keep anything to herself. I think Robbie could've just scared her with "ghosts" sort of things. Cat doesn't seem to be into horror. Maybe what he showed her or the way he acted aggressively as a pirate might've scared her. For a girl, who gets easily scared, I think this is enough. Maybe Robbie just has a thing for creepy stuff and so he shows her as well and as for the cut-outs they could be just a way of handling his affection towards her. He probably didn't know how else to handle it and he just admires her. He probably doesn't even realise the weight of his actions and Cat never seemed so upset as to get sad considering that the others never noticed. She never pushed him away either.
