Sonic 1 Forever (v1.4.2) ✪ How To Find The Emerald Shrine (Hidden Unlockable) (1080p/60fps)

I was meaning to actually make this, if anything, would've shown this off the last time I did a longplay on S1F, but anyways, here's a quick showcase on how to find the Emerald Shrine, discovered in Labyrinth Zone.
For starters, if you don't already have it unlocked yet, you need to beat the game with all emeralds in order to unlock the Emerald Gauntlet.
Next step is beating the Emerald Gauntlet, as it's all 7 special stages with the addition of a timer. Once surpassing that, you are given a message after collecting all chaos emeralds that "The Way is Now Open." (Also want to mention, from the time that I got here, it might be considered a world record. 🔥)
Following that is finding the Emerald Shrine. You have to enter Labyrinth Zone Act 1 (any character works), and find the Emerald Shard that's hidden on the top route. Once finding the Emerald Shard, you have to back track and take the lower route, keep going until you'll find an Emerald Shard shape in a stone on the ground. Approach the stone and from there it'll give you a route to the shrine (with also the addition of a nice soundtrack change).
Once getting on the shrine, you'll be awarded with hidden unlockable, that is Hyper Abilities, giving you the same hyper abilities from S3&K.
To be specific:
• Sonic is given a Hyper Dash;
• Tails is given the Super Flickies;
• Knuckles is a shock wave attack that causes an earthquake and destroys all enemies on the screen, when gliding into a wall.

I'd imagine this is where the Master emerald was kept many years before Angel island was even a floating island, perhaps previously it was in the mystic cave hidden palace, and after labyrinth zone, the current hidden palace, and then finally the shrine it's kept at in the modern games, perhaps alternating between the two angel island locations as Knuckles sees fit.

same lol, but heres a tip if you wanna just get the thing and not do the stages, download the easy special stages mod :] i downloaded it, and did the gauntlet in like 20 seconds and it gave me the thing that said "the way is now open"

My theory:I think that shrine was the first hidden palace where knuckles kept the emerald but it's gone because something happened to it and knuckles or maybe knuckles didn't know about the emerald except maybe eggman tried taking it but the question is what happened for the emerald to be gone???

Well, both Hyper Tails and Hyper Knuckles look exactly the same, the only thing missing is afterimages, but as for Sonic, the Hyper palette is clearly missing. Oh, and by the way, please don't bother with "There's no Hyper Tails" - SEGA already took care of it as far as Sonic Mania, and multiple later titles including Origins. Tails with Super Flickies IS Hyper Tails, while the one without them is Super.

This, Sonic 2 Absolute, Sonic CD Restored (& Knuckles) and Sonic 3 A.I.R. are way better than Origins. If you want things done right then do it yourself and it will all pay off and have more love, effort and care than the company's attempt that cost money.

Bruh I freacking agree with you so, SO much! They are the defition of "ridiculous"! The controls are very awful! Like, imagine just trying to move Sonic to the other direction, but instead - he just ignores it and flies right into the fucking "GOAL" ball! Especially the most brain-bursting part of all of this shit is the nonsensial seventh emerald! Not only it is necessary to put it here (kind of), but the stage layout for it is TOO unfair, especially that pre-emerald entrance part! Two GOAL lines infront of you, and that fucking pinball in the middle... If you EVER wondering what is the most hardcore thing in video games history, then welcome to Sonic 1 special stages. I'm sure you will rip your walls after trying to get all the emeralds.
