I did not like jazz or soul and much of the popular music a year ago. I thought that my kind of music was not invented yet. Then I heard Angelina sing. She is unique, and she says that singing is like speaking for her. Once I discovered her, and really listened to many of her songs - there hasn't been ONE day without me listening to Angelina. I'm addicted.
@LissaSquiers3 жыл бұрын
I thought I was weird for listening to her everyday, but I see a lot of people in the comments say they do too! And that they never get tired of listening to the songs. She taps into a universal resonance or something...

Steinar, the cure for this "wonderful" addiction of love is to let it continue. The soulfulness that accompanies the addiction is something that stirs around inside you and your heart doesn't want you to ever let go. Steinar, you and about millions (?) of her "Angels" all have the privilege of having the same addiction. Yes, Angelina's world is a lovely place to be in.
@RobertDeMartin3 жыл бұрын
@@LissaSquiers LS, what you said was very true. Many of us have listened to her songs well over 100 times and we are in awe each time because we know we are watching what can be described as a miracle. And, LS, what she "taps" into is our heart. And that's why when you walk around these days you feel good inside. Has Angelina influenced you? Absolutely, and for the good, of course.

Haha, I went from only listening to electronic music of different kinds to almost only listening to Angelina Jordan every single day. It's crazy. It's like my music taste did a complete 180. Best part is that I never get tired of listening to Angelina, I still get chills two years later... Never happened to me before with other music.

Hi Jay, prepare to be gobsmacked a lot. The next song is another Billie Holiday song "I'm A Fool To Want You". Angelina sings it a cappella. I would suggest playing the original by Billie first to fully appreciate what you are about to hear from a 7 year old. Love to see your appreciation of this extraordinary talent. Can't wait to see you gobsmacked again!!

Jay, thanks for this wonderful reaction with Angelina. Her first public show with Gloomy Sunday, the famous song that Billie Holiday sing for the first time in 1941, was an astonishing event for those who lived it at that moment, the emotion one feels for her first performances, in which she wonderfully connects her voice and talent with aspect of that little bird playing, it is very big and intense and leaves you permanently marked. ❤️ ❤️ To think that at 7 years she was perfectly capable of reading, analyzing and making contact, in a foreign language, without any doubt or fear, with the public and with the talented judges seems impossible. She convinced her mother to sign her up for Talent because she was confident ... at seven years! In the days following the performance, her online video recorded over 5 million views in a country, the Norway, which has as many inhabitants ... 😁 What the first judge says at the end of the song "you are the music", is the simplest and most perfect description of Angelina ever ❤️

Very nice, Jay. Yep, that was the beginning of a long journey that has a long way to go and is picking up passengers on her train everyday. Her family has managed her very well through the years and Angelina has always said how appreciative she is for their loving support. I've seen this video well over 100 times and one particular moment which always touches my heart is when they show her mom standing back stage looking at at a monitor while the performance is going on and reaching up to her face to try and hold back her tears. Can you, in your wildest dreams possibly imagine what she was feeling like at that moment? What a beautiful, just beautiful moment to watch. And, Jay, very nice overall reaction. There was one additional dialogue exchange with the judges near the end of the video that we didn't see. I wonder if you purposely edited it out or you just thought it was a good time to end the video?

At her age, most kids enter talent contests with a strategy to ramp up the cute factor to gain favour. What does Angelina pluck from her repertoire for this family light entertainment show?Answer: a death-march paced song sung from the perspective of a woman contemplating suicide. For me her choice not to sing about lollipops or puppies is saying: "Don't just look at me; LISTEN!"

@@michaelcrane4135 It's kind of how she got my attention. I learned about the lore surrounding Gloomy Sunday as part of my work some three years ago. @@alanoakley3242 my interest in and my love of music has been a lifetime experience. I am a young almost 71 yr old, most see me about 10-20 years younger than my chronological. I came across Angelina in my pursuit of new and emerging talent through KZbin videos and specifically new kids emerging singers through some European talent competitions like “Voice Kids” in different countries and other videos. Angelina came to me in this way on KZbin several years ago and I have been hooked ever since…I get emotional with nearly every video I watch of hers.
