Why is there a hose going to the carbs With antifreeze running through my 2001 FZSio

It helps regulate air temperature into the engine and keep the fuel at a warm temperature. If the air is kept closer to a controlled temperature it's easier to mix air and fuel together more precisely. A lot of cars have coolant running through the throttle body also

So there is a hose with a bulb under all that and a t in the middle I've been trying to find out where that t hose goes to and if there's a cap on that bulb can you please help me

The oil goes into the air filter, please, what is the problem?

Your crankcase pressure is too high. You can "fix" this by following the hose small that runs from the air box down to the top of the transmission area, remove the hose and put a small filter that fits over this nipple. The hose should be about 1/2 inch thick.

@@LegitRaceCraft Does this problem cause evaporation without a lack of oil inside the engine? Or cause a problem when the temperature does not work on the sprinkler?

Carbon deposits inside the engine cause this. It happens with old engines. There isn't much you can do except buy some oil additive. Lucas makes one for motorcycles, and liqui-moly does also. Only buy one that's intended for motorcycles though. And follow the directions on the bottle.

Drain your oil and check for fuel smell. Replace with appropriate amount of oil.

hopefully can help need to remove tank to modify air box (streetfighter) i have 1997 cat and was wondering is it the same and will i have the cut off as i have petrol in the tank =/ also hypothetically would i need to completely dettach the tank.... its just a small hole i need to make can use hand tools

+scott sinclair most Yamahas have the shut-off. I've had 3 fzr600s, one yzf600, and the r6. They all had shut-off valves. The thundercat should be like the yzf600

Update... Took off tank my cut off was in a similar position to yours however a little closer to the bottom of the tank (needed a little extra tipping) tank came off easily following your instructions managed to tweak my air box and put it all back. Now I just need to replace the light and Speedo section 😅✌

What is the trick to getting the #3 hex screws loose to get the carbs out? What tool did you use? a regular long allen wrench is to thin and doesn't have enough torque

A bit driver with a 3mm allen bit works well.

I'm having trouble getting the airbox back on 🤦🤦🤦 anyone have suggestions to get this damn thing to slip back ontop of the throttle body?

You can put a little water on so that the rubber is slipperier. They are usually a little difficult to put back on

+andrew montgomery there are very slight differences between the 98/99 R6 and the 00/02 R6, but I doubt there are any differences with removing the tank to get to the carbs. You should be able to follow my videos on pulling off the carbs.
