These are sweet boats. I'm running a yamaha 90 on mine, with an 80 lb terrova. Works good! Something to be said about the space and stability with 5 people jigging walleye at the same time.

Great boat, same boat I bought late last fall. Big wide open stable boat with small gunnels so your not wasting all that room. Last time I fished there were 2 of us in fairly heavy waves were both around 250 lbs and boat was so stable both drifting and driving the boat you’d think it was a fiberglass boat. I put on a Yamaha 90 SHO and 24volt I pilot Ulterra and helix 10. My only complaint was my first time out had 2 cup holders blow lose. Alumacraft should have those glued in. Dealer took care of it right away. Some say you need power steering I thought that wasn’t a problem at all so I’m glad I didn’t spend that extra $.
@joelmarier963 жыл бұрын
How did you find it in the big waves ? Did you get super wet?? I'm looking at the same boat, and I'm coming from a 16 deep and wide side console
@kross12613 жыл бұрын
@@joelmarier96 seems to handle big water pretty well and it’s pretty dry as well. Big wide open boat. I really like it compared to my friends big gunnels so much more room. Also I didn’t get the power steering and I’m glad I didn’t. Easy to steer.

Where did you stuff the 3rd battery for the 36v Ultrex?
@nathanwemett44452 жыл бұрын
I have the same question! Can’t find any info on how to do that! Have a 2022 competitor 185 sport and no good place to put 3rd battery for 36volt trolling motor
@jackgaskins34172 жыл бұрын
@@nathanwemett4445 I found a good way of doing it without sacrificing space in a nearby compartment. Small removal of foam in front of factory battery area. Just remove the battery lid, then drill out the rivets holding the next forward floor piece. I just took a drill with a 1.5” paddle bit and a shop vac to eat up the foam. A sawzall was a bit much. Careful to not go through hull. Dropped in a new battery box, no lid. Had to shim up the floor board about 1-1.5” for battery top clearance and reinstall with removable screws. The removable battery lid still sits well (at an angle though) and doesn’t sacrifice any usable rod storage. The top of the floor board is closer to the bottom of the bottom rod storage tubes though. Love having (3) 29group batteries with the 36v ultrex. Going on year two with the setup and no issues.

Jay, Wondering if you could help me with trolling motor shaft length, on your video it looks like you are using a 60" Ultrex with lots of shaft to spare, do you think a 52" would do for this boat. Your opinion would be appreciated. Thanks Gary

Now that you have the live scope and other electronics, what brand and size batteries do you use? Do you have your electronics hooked up to the same battery as you motor (cranking battery) or do you have a separate battery for all your electronics? If separate, how do you charge that battery? Thanks

Nice Rig, Alumacraft's are nice boat's. The only thing I dislike is the white graphics on the side of that model. White shows "War Wounds" so bad and water stain's that are hard to clean off if your not diligent about washing/wiping your boat. The color Black also highlight's markings also.

I find the white actually looks very clean as long as you aren’t inches away from it. As far as scratching...just keeps me more careful!

Do u need so many fish finders.
@JaySiemens4 жыл бұрын
Nope
@pdbandit14 жыл бұрын
I am an old guy and disabled so I can no longer fish, so take this for what you think it's worth. We didn't have fish finders when I started fishing, then flashers took the guess work out of figuring out your depth and if there were fish under the boat. Down imaging gives you a view of 6-7 feet of the bottom in 20 feet of water? If you're trying to make a living off of fishing the ability to see what is a 100 feet plus to either side or in front of you is a decided advantage? Better electronics will probably help you put more fish in the boat than a bigger faster boat?
@pdbandit14 жыл бұрын
