Tatum is great he's definitely a star but I doubt at this point he'll ever be superstar level. He's better than any role player in the league but he'll never be a LeBron,KD, Giannis, Kawhi, Jokic, or Luka level player. He'll never be the kind of player to take a team with low talent deep into the playoffs. He is however good enough that if he has semi decent talent his team will likely be an above.500 team. That's literally the best way to explain Jayson Tatum.

The best Luka had before Kyrie was brunson before brunson was who he is now. Luka has 5 all-star appearances which is tied with Tatum despite Tatum being in the league longer. Luka has 5 all NBA first team selections to Tatums 2. Luka has a ROTY award. Luka just became a scoring champion. Accolades don't lie. If Tatum doesn't play Boston still wins if Luka doesn't play the mavericks probably lose. If Tatum wins an NBA championship and finals MVP most people will still consider Luka better. Tatum has a history of choking every post season which is why Celtics are lucky they got the easiest path to the finals literally ever. If Celtics were playing Denver or Minnesota in the finals I guarantee the series would not be going their way. Your probably a casual NBA fan though so it's okay if you have an incorrect opinion

There is more to being a basketball player than being a scorer. Tatum's shooting was way too streaky this year, but he has become a very good playmaker, gets almost double-digit boards every game and can defend 1-4 well. Luka is a better player than Tatum but its not by much. Tatum is a superior rebounder and defender, he's always in shape and he rarely misses a game. Luka is a remarkably skilled player but he needs to dedicate himself harder to his conditioning. The Celtics attacked him on D all series long and in the 5th game it showed. I understand Luka was dealing with some minor injuries, but he looked completely gassed out there. That's pretty embarrassing in an elimination game.

It doesn't matter what position Luka plays cause the entire playoffs is bring the guy you want to defend into Pick and Roll and get the switch you want. This is all playoff basketball is now. Luka can defend KP/Tatum/Holiday/Horford/Brown/White and no matter what there will be a pick and roll that forces him the guard who the other teams wants. Luka literally does that too everytime he sees a weaker defender on the celtics. Its what they do. Doesn't matter who he defends now

1. I have always said Luka should be at the F position, let him be a Larry Bird. Bird didn't control the ball, yet avgd 25+ ppg 10+ rpg 6+ apg. It's good him & Kyrie worked out, but if Hardaway is better coming off bench, then they need another guard to fill in SG position, let Kyrie set up & score, Luka is still 1st option. Tatum is a good player, but Celtics have a stacked team. Tatum, Brown, Porzingas, Holiday, all have been all stars & made all NBA or Defense teams. So quite honestly, if they didn't win, it would be the biggest failure ever. As for Giannis, he was the one pushing for Dame, push Bute out, Adrian in & then out. Knicks is the easiest answer. They are one of the only teams that can give enough picks back without ruining their core. He would prefer not to go to the West (too stacked), and go to a team that can keep a strong role player group after. The Knicks have Randle to match salaries and all their first round picks. They are the favorite if Giannis asks out. Its also not far from where he has been and one of the biggest markets

He made all the right reads when his shot was not falling and a selfish scorer would have lost with these teammates. Luckily he has made huge strides in his playmaking and it reflects in Tatum averaging more assists in Finals than Luka.
