I want to take on Mayor Lightfoot in 23 for attacking my uncle, nd put an end to her tenure and bring back jobs, lower crime, cutting taxes, reestablishing gun control nd take on other corrupt officials

I want to run for Political Office!
@wanderider3214 жыл бұрын
I've been a barber for 15 years (12 years in the same town). Literally no one asks me whats going on in the town politically or behind the scenes. I don't offer it because no one asks and honestly it's none of my business. I need a top secret clearance for the things I hear but I have 0 desire to hurt anyone. I have an internal ledger of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Only video I have watched; ever, that took note of the "chit-chat @ a B.S. and gave it true credence.
@jaytownsend224 жыл бұрын
Jesse James obviously you would have been a good source if information had anyone asked. Too bad they didn’t and their loss. Where I was raised the town barber and the beautician knew all worth knowing.

Thank you Mr. Townsend for your wealth of information. Its funny - it was like you were God sent. I am listening non stop to your videos. Its like the saying when the student is ready the teacher appears. My question is can i still run a stellar campaign with 6 months or so left? For Mayor

@Landon I plan to run on a progressive platform so yes. Environmental protections, clean energy, labor protections, and strong social services like public education, healthcare and a universal basic income as well as nationalizing transportation, clean energy, banks, and housing. Also cutting the military budget, immigration reform and criminal justice and prison reform
@austinhernandez27163 жыл бұрын
@@chrisburkes2567 Omg I'm with you! I hope you win! That's exactly what I want to do as well! My number one goal is Medicare for all. But I plan on starting out small and working my way up. I want to run for county board of commissioners. I want to abolish most of the county zoning laws, try to get rid of as many racist drug laws as possible and focus on public infrastructure to rebuild the city like in Europe, allowing people to walk around without needing a car. That's my goal for now. I live in a republican state, Georgia(though now a swing state) but my county has historically voted blue so maybe it will be okay. I'm debating on if I should go to law school first or not.

I know exactly what I want to do and that is a lot. My biggest problem is my anxiety. I used to have really bad social anxiety, I literally couldn't even talk in school. I have no social skills because my anxiety was bad all my life and I was so bullied in school I had no social life. I am well educated and know what I want to do, but connecting with people and having confidence will be my biggest problem.

We all have burdens, shortcomings that hold us back. We also have the freedom to seek help. I suggest you do.

I relate to this a lot! I think you can use this to your advantage, and frame it as you are so passionate about this that you are facing your biggest fears to accomplish it.
@austinhernandez27163 жыл бұрын
@@Carol-yn2kq Well one huge advantage is that I am very careful on who I befriend because I don't want to let anyone, even my friends, stand in the way of what I want to do. So I will avoid making a lot of friends because if I don't, I will undoubtedly lose many friends because they will strongly disagree with me. I have set goals and I will not let anyone stop me from achieving them. But yes I am facing my fears. I remember in high school, I was in band and originally wanted to be a music teacher as a career. One day when the director was gone, the assistant director let students volunteer to conduct the band. I was very nervous but I did it. Half of the band laughed and mocked me. I was used to it though so I didn't care. At least I tried. The assistant director got furious though and took up for me, telling the class they should feel ashamed, because I had the courage and determination to try what half of them wouldn't even think of trying and that's all that mattered.

Except in politics the "left" is almost nonexistent. Most democrats are center right, and Republicans are far right. The furthest left you'll get is Bernie, AOC, etc, and they're a minority
