If the Raptors didn’t swap Jamison for Vince Carter, basketball in Canada will not be as popular as we know today.

Not sure... Carter was a superstar in his prime, but Jamison is one of the most underrated and underappreciated players of the last 30 years... He scored more than 20,000 points and nobody fucking cares, just saying...
@paulnguyen51572 жыл бұрын
@@naewsqrg Yes Jamison in his prime was a great player and scorer especially with the Wizards. But the impact that VC has brought to basketball in Canada and the NBA are something that Jamison will never reach.

Couldn't be more of a lie. Toronto is the 4th largest media market in North America. The fans hunger for basketball was proven when they hosted the world championships in '94, before the Raps existed. In '96, before Vince got there, they were 3rd in league attendance. Well, facts make you look dumb now... 😅

Man i realize all those trades the raptors did had huge roles to the other teams to blazers getting stoudamire, knicks getting camby, orlando getting tracy, nuggets getting billups(which helped detroit later), and kings getting christie. Imagine they stayed with this core if only those off court drama never happened and the situation might have been different.

If you compare the Raptors now to what it was then, you can see the difference. VC has some blame but the ownership and front office was horrible. Don’t forget, the Leafs sucked back then as well. I hope Vince gets his jersey retired because if it wasn’t for him, Canada wouldn’t have a basketball ball team.

Raptors kept trading everyone No good players wanted to play in Toronto If you guys remember the expansion year they had their own draft Raptors selected BJ Armstrong as first pick BJ played with MJ and was an All-Star He was good . Damon Stoudemire left after 2.5 years Camby traded after 2 years Tracy left after 3 years Remember Tracy wasn't allowed to play play in the first year . No minutes for rookies from High School Same as Kobe Chauncey Billups , Alonzo Mourning He declined to play for Raptors Doug Christie was traded he was defensive favourite Antonio Davis , Corliss Williamson 6th man of the year GM Isiah Thomas did not draft good or sign or trade good most of the time And he left for more money too I think Raptors teams were only good when Vince Carter came to team I felt he didnt get the ball enough He was a elite scorer Could have had 30 + points per game Instead they traded so many people Then traded him to Nets For a bunch of players and Alonzo Mourning . I was so happy. He was one of the best Centers. Alas he refused to play for the Raptors

As good as Vince was he still had another level he could have achieved, With his god given gifts it's no wonder people compared him to Jordan, I'm not saying Vince didn't work hard because I'm sure he did but compared to players like Jordan or even Kobe it's a different type of mentality they had, A different type work ethic and intensity, If Jordan was in a similar situation to what happened to Vince there's no way Jordan would have put in less effort to try to get traded, Jordan might be vocal about his intentions to be traded but he hated to lose and would still try do everything he could to win, If Vince was similar to Jordan or Kobe there's no doubt in my mind he could achieve his full potential and been closer to those players
