That loss in 2009 is what kept the Celtics out of the Finals, not the KG injury. Even with KG, the Celtics would have still lost that series just like they did. As great as KG was, the Celtics still had Rondo, Pierce, and Ray Allen on the floor. Their problem was giving up 3-pointers in that series. The Magic scorched the Celtics from beyond the arc. How was KG going to change that?
@kingdinodragonite3470 Жыл бұрын
@@donavonhoward114hey went to 7 against Orlando without KG. You do realize KG has one of the best Postseason Plus Minus in league history. The Celtics with KG are +13pts better compared to when he was out. Thats the difference of a lottery team to a contender. Oh, KG is in contention on being the Best big man PERIMETER DEFENDER in history too. Look at his defensive stats vs perimeter players like Kobe or Iverson on head to head. They shoot a horrendous 34%fg when KG guards them and 22% from 3.

Also BM&P being 6-9, 6-10 & 7-1 was a “Big” front court in height as well as talent and Cousey, Sherman, Jo Jo White were not “big” height wise. Ray Allen was the turning point and when rondo started playing well we knew that they would win.
@cesarcanete34023 жыл бұрын
The Celtics never got back to the NBA finals since Ray left. On the other hand, Ray got back to the Finals & was solely responsible for giving Pop & the Spurs their sole blemish/only finals loss. Its a shame since that the Celtics haven't retired Ray's number. He was thee most important piece to that Celtics Big 3 championship team.
@jaywarvz3 жыл бұрын
Yes man. And also their age played a huge factor
@cesarcanete34023 жыл бұрын
@@jaywarvz Yeah I guess so. All I know is that Ray finished his career in the finals (even though he lost). He was still serviceable & a productive player at the end of his career. KG & Paul Pierce weren't the same players they once were after Ray left & both finished off their careers on losing teams (no disrespect to either of them). I never realized how valuable Ray actually was until after he retired. I hope Boston eventually retires his number one day. If not, hopefully the Heat will retire his number or the Supersonics when they come back. I remember Ray bringing life back into that franchise when the Bucks traded him for Gary Payton. Ray's awesome!!

@cesarcanete34023 жыл бұрын
@@thestripedgoat7178 Thanks. You know what also sucks though? Is that the Bucks aren't going to retire his number because Giannis has that number 34 that Ray wore during his time with the Bucks & the franchise is definitely going retire 34 under Giannis since he was responsible for the Bucks winning the championship this year. Happy for Giannis, but sad for Ray because Ray did a whole lot of good things for that franchise around that time. I think Ray is the only hall of famer, 2X NBA Champion & multiple All star to not have his jersey retired for a team. Maybe there is one out there, but I honestly can't think of any other than Ray. Sad too because he deserves to be honored by a team.

Questions 1. When will Boston win another title? 2. How does the Celtics roster look this season on a scale of 1 to 10? 3. Why do you think Celtics fans hate Kyrie Irving? 4. Will Paul Pierce ever find another network or will he never find another network? 5. How many titles will jayson Tatum win for Boston?
@paulnguyen51573 жыл бұрын
1. I don't think they will win with this core. Honestly I'm thinking they will trade Tatum and the rest away. 2. Around 6 to 7. Pretty much nothing change. 3. Because Kyrie was supposed to be a leader of a young Celtics team yet he's the one that made the team worse. And he promised to resign with them and you know what he did that off-season. 4. He will eventually find another one imo. I just hope his takes and personality will change. 5. If he's patient enough then he will get a ring or two. Otherwise no rings in Boston.
@Intr0vertical3 жыл бұрын
1. Definitely just a matter of when could be years or decades 2. Like a 6 3. Because he gave a whole fake speech about wanting to be a celtic for life and yet sold on purpose in an important series while also ruining chemistry throughout the season. 4. Nah he will prolly just do his own thing with selling his own brand of weed. 5. 1-3 hopefully.
