@geoffreyveale77152 жыл бұрын
Basic method of getting a quite case is good ventilation, and many high quality low noise fans running slowly. Modern PC systems with high end processors and graphics cannot survive in a case with small openings. Fan choice is extremely important and best to over spec the CPU cooler so its fan(s) can run slow. Do not skimp on the power supply as the internal power supply fan can cause excess noise if running near max output.

He really liked it, I looked up some more in-depth reviews such as at Gamers Nexus and got my own one just about a week ago to build an entirely new system (excluding SSDs and HDDs and the cpu cooler from the last one). This was my first time where I built a computer completely from scratch with my own hands, not just replacing some parts. It took an entire evening and most of the night due to my inexperience, but it turned out pretty good in the end.

About 15 months ago, I got this exact case. The airflow and quiet nature are phenomenal and the RGB is nice. I couldn't be happier with this case - I've become a bit of a be quiet fanboy as my CPU cooler is from be quiet and while I got a three-pack of bog-standard fans for exhausting through the top, I did as Jay recommended and moved one of the included fans to the front for air draw purposes. You really can't beat the combination of value, air flow, looks, and (lack of) noise. You won't be disappointed with this case!

I'd love to see a build with this case if possible. I recently built my first PC in that case and I was very satisfied with the out come. Although, as you mentioned, the channel for passing through the cables is quite tight so I resorted to passing my cablemod cables through the small opening that has the 'BeQuiet' name to right right of the motherboard. And I gotta say passing the cables through that opening made the cables look really sweet!
@DannysTechChannel2 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right with the cable channel. I did a build in this and using custom Cable Mod cables was horrible since my 24 pin was right next to that cable channel. It forces the cable to do a hard bend to plug in.
@donkeysunited2 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same. It might work if the 24 pin connector was a right angle off the MB but it'd be horrible if it was pointing straight up. Also, my Seasonic PSU has a hard material wrapped around the cables near the 24 pin plug and that absolutely will not bend. This L-bend looks like a cheap alternative to using rubber grommets.

Maybe not a big deal with a custom water loop where you can put a 360 up front too, but with an AIO the best place is up top exhausting - and a 360 or 280 AIO up there makes more sense. You can get a 280 FAN up there, but not the radiator too... I know, the front, the front... yea blow hot air into the case... I think the best use case here is an air cooled setup... nice and compact.

@@penedrador True. As long as the air being blown in is cooler than the air in the case, then the airflow will have a positive cooling effect. Built three PC's in this case for my friends and I'm absolutely loving it. Building in this case is such a breeze and it's premium feel out of the box. The 3 included fans is a great trait and gives a fair start to everyone. 😁

i've had this case for around 1.5 years now, added a couple extra 140mm pure wings 2 for extra intake and exhaust as well as a scythe fuma 2, the PC is DEAD quiet even at full load i was really impressed

My 10yo daughter built her PC last year in this case. And for fans, we used the Asia Horse 360 Matrix. I know its cheap but it does work good still and its looks awesome behind the mesh front and the lighting design goes well with the dual led strips down the middle.

I've had this case for about a year 8 months now, im building my pc slowly as i can afford new stuff. The Be Quiet Pure Base 500DX has so much space and room for different optimizations. Plus it was super affordable..

Rockin‘ a 500DX with a 360 rad in the front and a 240 rad at the top. RAM clearance with the top rad came down to a few millimeters. Great case with awesome build possibilities in a relatively small form factor.

I got a 500DX in black. I love the case. Got a DarkRock Pro 4, and an additional exhaust fan, for 2 in front, 1 on top, 1 in back. Really nice cooling, quiet. And it suits my black, gunmetal and orange theme beautifully

I built my son's PC in one of the white Be Quiet cases. I actually enjoyed it and he is happy. We did notice some of the issues Jay points out too. But still happy.

I have this case and it has excellent air flow and is decently quiet. I wanted it for the rgb because I was tired of using a software. Rgb is really nice. Is overall a good case and probably the only case I need for a long time

I have this on my desk and see it every day, but I don't think to clean my filters till I see it on KZbin... It was my first build in ten years and it was pretty painless. Watched your videos on cable management and air pressure while planning the build.

to anyone interested in this case they just released an updated version called pure base 500 fx its pretty much the same thing but with built in RGB lightwings fans and they are running a promo that makes the case 119usd up till the end of month (149 normal msrp)

I did custom loop watercooling in this case! 360mm rad fits in the front (took out the hard drive cage and velcroed my hard drive next to the PSU), 240mm rad fits in the top (was able to screw in 4 of the 8 screws lol), used a 140mm fan mount EK resevoir/pump at the rear. Everything is a squeeze but my 3080 FE and 5800x3D run nice and cool and quiet!!

Just swapped it out for a P500a. Now I can have a top 360mm, temps are better, but there's more dust and the new case is a lot bigger. The 500dx was so nice on my desk. It was nice to build in and components "fill" the case out well. My GPU was running a bit hot, but cpu temps were good(3080 10gb EAGLE and 5800x with NH-D15)

I love it the DX 500 is the best case I have used to this point for air flow. great case.

I love this case. I have a black one with a 360 AIO fitted. I found it really easy to build in, so much so that I used the white version for my wife’s build. She has a 240 AIO fitted up top with plenty of room for the Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB memory. Cannot recommend enough 😀.

I have one in Black and put a Noctua NH U12S AM4 in it. It does what it is supposed to and keeps everything nice and cool. Happy with my purchase.

I have this exact case, mounted the radiator to the front and have fans pulling air in from the front, exhaust out the top and rear, with a 5950x I'm seeing idle temps down in the mid to low 30c's (93.2f), and coupled with a BeQuiet PSU, it's quiet. Really quiet

Built my friend a PC in this case a week ago, it's pretty nice to build in but still not a Phanteks case haha. That HDD tray can be adjusted to sit a bit back so an AIO fits on the front btw.

I've had the same old cooler master case since 2008. I'm upgrading my system this year and decided to finally pick up a new case rather than putting fresh parts in an ancient box. This case looks like the winner for me. I love the look of it and it comes with 3 fans which seems to be a hard thing to find at a decent price point. Thanks for turning me onto to this one Jay!

Love mine but my 3070ti was FAR from quiet. I ended up putting a full custom loop in which works great and now truly quiet! I'd recommend crossflow rads if your going for a 280+240 unless you can charge the pump/res with an external PSU as my soft tubing had 4 pipes running right in front of the 24 pin.

I have a full custom loop in that case. Performance is amazing. Build quality is good, especially for the price. Easy to build in. Simple, but not boring looks. The RGB in the front looks crisp and diffused. Very very happy with the purchase. The top fits only 240mm radiator though. Front with 360. never getting over 50C -ish gpu and cpu under full load with fans mostly not even ramping up. Amazing. Would buy again 11/10.

Have had the same case for like 7 months. It's great for temps and pretty quiet. Just added 2 fans on front and 1 in the back. One of yhe stock fans is on the roof exhausting the heat.

Currently using this case, was first build in probably ten years and was a fun one to build in. You can actually remove the USB-3.1 from the front IO - if you're like me and don't tend to run things to the front of your PC - and run a three 140mm fan configuration at the front. It's a touch jank as the top fan won't be screwed in at the top but it works.
@Jabberwork.2 жыл бұрын
You can shift the hard drive bay in the basement to the right since it has screwholes and make room for a 360 rad at the same time! I did that on my build in that very case

I've been using one for a year and they are refined and good value at the same time. The fans are spectacular in that initially i had to check they were rotating because of how quietly they run :)

I got one 2 months ago and I love it. It was super easy to build in, temperatures are great, it looks and feels very good (especially for the price), it's kind of compact but offers a lot of room and, of course, the price was excellent. I got some of be quiet's RGB fans pretty cheap in the same store and impulse bought them too. Love the new setup (just my old GTX 970 is extremely loud now, my old case was a Nanoxia Silent Case, so i didn't hear it as much...) and I'd buy it again anytime. Cool to see you showing the case off in this great presentation!

I put the super-down-south thicc Arctic Liquid Freezer II RGB 240mm in the top of this. Works, but it does press against vengeance rgb pro ram (pic on my community tab). Swapping to this case brought my GPU temps down & I dig it. One thing ya might wanna note is the PSU compartment is super tight. A real squeeze tryin' to cram it in there.
