Oh, I had an Asus LC card, more specifically an Asus RoG Strix RX 6800 XT LC and the pump died overnight on its 7th month, and Asus offered no warranty despite having bought it on an official reseller and never having done anything to the card besides using it on my gaming PC, now I know better, never buying another Asus product.

the reality is AI requires massive amounts of nvidia GPU's and the data centers that need them offer nvidia whatever they want monetarily for as many gpu's as they will sell them. worldwide their demand skyrocketed. this is the reason for the "Shortage" and the reason the prices remain high.

Overclocking used to be awesome because you could get legitimate increases from the card. These days, it's far more fun to see how much performance you can get with LESS power. My 4090 is at stock clock settings with increased memory speed by 1.2ghz and it runs stable at 60% of TDP. Huge drop in temps and heat output from the card.

Not even counting that the longevity increase you get from lower temps and power is massive, wear and tear on active components (transistors/diodes) when used at their limits is way worse than when used with a comfortable margin !!! Good job, smart move 😉👍🖖

I run my 4090 at 2.6 GHz 900 mV. On average it only pulls around 250W. I only lost a measly 5% performance for 35% less power.

Agreed, under volting is the way to go. Electricity is expensive. To run a gpu @ 1000 watts an hour for hours a day, is very expensive. Its almost like having a space heater running year round. I like efficiency.

Warranty Void stickers of any kind are meaningless in the US anyway. Companies still try to scare customers with them, but the FTC has made it clear that it is completely illegal for a product warranty to be void simply for removing a sticker, they _must_ prove you caused the malfunction/damage by removing the sticker for that to be a valid reason for warranty refusal.

Titan had a few % more performance than the next tier down, basically identical. Just more vram. Now the gap is huge beteen the goat and the runner up. Nvidia is clearly pushing gamers toward it. If you got an 11 gb 1080 ti or a 12 gb titan x, you would never notice a difference in gaming it was like a 3-5% diff. Now you get a noticeably better experience on 4090/5090 vs 4080/5080. And 5080 already runs out of vram in some games and it just came out. Gl using 11 gigs on a 1080 ti in 2017

@ Ya the VRAM is the obvious part. My friend tried the new MH beta and was getting a bunch of stutters so I told him to lower textures. Yep, ran out of vram on his 12GB card. 16gb days are limited. I put my 5080 Suprim into my PC today. I got 25180 in Port Royale with +500Mhz with 3225MHz on core and +2000Mhz (17001Mhz) on VRAM (doesn't go higher in Afterburner) and PL on 111%. It is in the top 62 for the 5080 and more then a stock 4090, with background programs and a second monitor open. :D And that OC is stable so far with or without PL 111%. You just get a bit lower clocks with stock PL. Best of all, it is below 70°C on core and VRAM while being near silent in a crappy case with just 2 case fans.

If you hit ctrl+f on afterburner you get a vintage/frequency dialog. With L you can LOCK the frequency at a specific vintage/frequency point which may help with too much overshoot or drop. Also you can move the curve down and Ford 6 the gpu to use less voltage at higher frequency, preventing it to hit the TDP wall.

You could use a tool like Regshot, to find out where the memory value is written in registry. Then you can enter a value manually and see if it works. It could lead to instability, so do a registry backup or create a restore point.

Would rather get the air astral. These 5080s and 5090s are nuts with oc capabilities. Its crazy how stock this gpu here whooped the fe stock and other cards stock. Also how tf did that dude get his fe so high doesnt make sense lol. Also you did really good here still. He got super lucky no other fe is doing what his did.

With my rx6800, I found that a slight overclock and undervolt gave me better 3Dmark scores than pushing the clocks and power limits. Also had to dial in the memory clocks but getting the card to run cool would allow it to always hit the clock speed I set it at and gave me the best scores. Lowered peaks but higher average clock speeds.

Why do manufacturers even want more media exposure for RTX 50 series? It sells out in seconds as soon as it hits the shelves anyways. Having content created around it creates demand that cannot be fulfilled

You have to change the GPU tweak settings to large overclocking range mode and then you can push the slider as much as you want

I'd like to see manufacturers make the tubing on these cards customizable. Depending on the case have the tubing longer or shorter so it doesn't look like it was shoved in there and be messy. Also look nice if you are using an AIO on the CPU.
