Honestly, because we are talking wireless, with most the quality emphasis being on the mic; I would like to see a comparison with the newest ModMic wireless mic. Because, honestly; you can use any headphone you want then, wireless or not. It's also placeable on either side of your head and they are priced ok. I know people swear by the wired versions, so it might be worth a shot.
@RyTrapp05 жыл бұрын
I COMPLETELY agree - in fact, I would like to see a comparison of, say, the "top 3 wireless gaming headsets"(or just whatever Jay has experience with at least) VS a premium set of over-ear headphones + a ModMic(the total of the 'phones + Mic being similar to the cost of the gaming headsets of course) Would be VERY interesting...

I already had the Sony WH1000XM3 for my daily commute. I use those with a mod mic wireless to fantastic results. I get that my set up is a lot more expensive than most "gaming" headsets, but I got the mod mic wireless several months after the headphones. I think the primary appeal of the mod mic is you can use it with whatever headphones you like. wired, wireless, cheap, expensive. Everyone's head and ears are different. I think it's better to get good quality individual products rather than trying to find an all in one solution that checks all the boxes. literally the same difference as buying pre-built or boutique PCs vs building your own.

Hey Jay, I feel like there's quite a bit of info you got wrong here. It's almost as if you didn't even look at any of the technical specs listed on their website. For starters: Wireless and Auxilarry support 20hz-48,000hz in 16 bit audio, but while connected in USB mode, you get 20hz-96,000hz in 24 bit audio. The microphone is also slightly different on the SE version. The non SE version has a 4mm capsule size while the SE version has 9.5mm size. The sensitivity on the non SE is -40dB and on the SE version is -42dB.

@Dux Ad Regnum If you're lucky and have good hearing and are 10 year old. If you are let's say 20 year old then you're lucky if you can hear up to 17000Hz. Also most audiophile headphones go over 20000Hz(or 20KHz) because if I'm not wrong the end of frequency range sounds a bit worse, and if that part is the part you don't hear then it sounds good across all frequencies.

@@GreenByte7 I actually have m40x and I can quite tell the difference in quality compared to other headsets I tried, and these are wired so bitrate is based on device you're playing it from and most people can't tell difference when changing bitrate to better than default and these are a lot better headphones than the ones in the video. What matters is mostly driver quality, frequency response impedance and similar stuff, less important is bitrate and quality of media you are playing(if it's average MP3 320kpbs or if it's better(flac) and not some super shit 150+kpbs), on wireless ones which usually have a lot inferior sound for bigger price it can make small difference but usually not important. It’s a bummer that the white headset doesn’t come with a carrying bag, but I didn’t plan on leaving my desk with them anyways. They’re subtle with the white and gray but an appropriate amount of flashy with the RGB. It also helps that you can do a solid color if you don’t really want the whole rainbow transition thing. I like that in one headset you can do USB wireless, wired USB and 3.5mm headphone jack. Leaving me with a lot of options for use. Not sure what the mic quality is like though because I use an external microphone. They also feel nonexistent on your head, my last headset gave me a bit of a headache if I used it longer than 2 hours.

Went through 4 Krakens in a row, getting them replaced everytime they broke untill I just got enough and went with the standard Voids, untill my cable eroded somehow, and then went with Elites, which by the way.. DO NOT BUY THE ELITES. These are the most miserable feckin things I've ever owned. They turn off on their own at random, even though the software indicates they're at full power, and you've made extra extra extra sure that the option for them to automatically turn off, is unselected.

I suggest you try a relatively unknown brand call Nura - developed in Victoria, Australia by audio engineers these headphones are Bluetooth and wired and contain a lot of technology, including microphones that are so sensitive they are being used on the NASA Mars Rover mission. They also use a Tesla Valve. Other features include ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), in-ear and over ear fit (think of IEM's plus over ear headphones combined), Social Mode (turn off the ANC with touch), and touch controls on the Nura logo (left and right) - assignable. The biggest feature is customisable audio immersion from soft bass to head thumping bass where you feel it through your ears - fully customisable and can even turn it off. The App creates an audio profile of your hearing via tones response measurements. Here's an excerpt from how the technology works - "The nuraphone plays a range of tones into the ear, and then measures a very faint sound that your ear generates in response to these tones called the Otoacoustic Emission (OAE). This tiny signal originates in the cochlea and vibrates the ear drum, turning it into a speaker and playing sound back out of your ear. Yes our ears make sound! This sound is about 10,000 times smaller than the sound that went in." NOTE: I do not work for Nura but do own these headphones so thought I would recommend them. These are only sold online, not in retail stores. Read more here: www.nuraphone.com/products/nuraphone and how it works here: www.nuraphone.com/pages/how-it-works. These are headphones that you have to hear to believe.

Think I've found the catch though.. 24 month contract plus upfront cost works out at the value of the headset, great, BUT the product only remains active whilst your subscription keeps running.. I got two questions. If anyone can answer any of these please feel free, thank you for helping me out. 1. When using it in wired mode with the usb is the battery getting bypassed so you get your power supply directly from the usb source? and since the usb cable is also the charger, is the battery always getting charged simuntaneously? 2. Can you be sure the headset isn't emitting any radiation in wired mode? I'm looking for a wireless/wired-hybrid headset so I can minimize the radiation emitted when not needing increased mobility.

Basically every time you press resume on a video on the bluetooth device, you hear a beep sound from the headset, and then you immediately hear the video sound, and then the sound quickly goes fully silent, and then it goes back to where its supposed to be (or sometimes even to some stupid audio level, after which you need to readjust the volume level) and you can finally listen to your media without any problems, unless you pause the video and resume it again, at which point the same thing happens all over again :/

I loved these headphones, I won't recommend them. I have had them since October of 2019 and have treated them fairly well, I have the Corsair ST hanging dock leftover from using the Void Pro and a few days ago the right ear cup broke, not the headset, the foam cup itself. I had not realized that the ear cups could be taken off and put back on was actually relieved for a moment as I thought "hey, since they can be taken off and put back on, surely I can just order a replacement set of ear cups and continue using the headset". Ya, they don't sell the ear cups on either amazon, or their own site. The only way to fix the problem is to make an entirely brand new plastic ring using a 3-D printer and transfer the padding and fabric to the new disc. How hard is it to offer replacement ear cups if you designed them to be easily taken off and put back on? I am gonna look into using either double sided tape or other solutions but I have to say, not offering replacement parts and expecting me to buy a whole new headset is awful, definitely not purchasing another Corsair headset again.
