Looking to buy a Master Chief Deluxe helmet by Jazwares? There are more differences between the Best Buy and GameStop editions than you might think so I bought both to help you decide which is right for you.

This is why I still think that we need stores that you can physically go to and shop, and choose your products the way you want. Without getting a damaged product, even though that time, it was a box. It does still mean , they damaged his merchandise. And for that, is the reason why I like to go shopping with my girlfriend to shopping malls. I used to watch my late buddy choose products, from shelves and I later ask out of curiosity why those? He'd tell me , they have the clearest artwork and no creases on the packages. So if you're a serious collector , you have to have those kinds of boxes or packages.

I agree. It saddens me to see the death of our shopping malls all for the sake of expediency and the lowest price. I have many fond memories of shopping their. There is also the issue of poor shipping methods, with insufficient packing and handling. I remember on more than one occasion scoring s closeout deal online at best buy only to arrive at the store to f8nd the shipping box was removed early in the shipping process. While the contents were undamaged the box was trashed and to me the box is often worthy of display. All good points. Thanks for your comments!

I do like the extra details of the Gamestop helmet. Of course I'm kind of an "easy target" for anything Halo related. It's funny I was in the chair at my dentists last week and somehow this came up. He went in his office and came back with one of the nicest Iron Man helmets I've ever seen. Guess geeks come in all shapes, sizes and occupations! Thanks for the comment!

Glad to see a comparison of the two. I bought the best buy one and was super interested in hearing that your experience is so poor with them. I preordered mine and got it day and date in a big protective box as with most other things i've gotten, usually never had best buy mess up that bad in store or with shipping. Was hoping the gamestop one would have a higher quality finish so to speak as the way they did the dirt lines on the edges look kinda wierd up close and that green is a very questionable choice. Still love it tho.

I’m glad bestbuy came through for you. I just received an Elden Ring Collectors edition from them and it was properly boxed with no damage. I agree that it would have been nice if the gamestop one had a few more extras but either way I think most people will be happy as long as they get it undamaged. Hahahaha this was a great review! I love this kind of content, definitely gained a new sub. I actually work at Best Buy and can tell you that a lot of the collection stuff we get usually comes in all banged up like that. Usually it’s all torn up as soon as UPS drops it off to us in the warehouse. They should definitely take better care of that stuff but the delivery UPS guys never really care when we bring it up.

I like how he says BestBuy helmet only as lights, but playing with it the sounds are there, which I expected would be either way. Only difference I see are Kermit green and maybe no battle damage/worn marks like the deluxe GameStop 1 has. Got mine today FINALLY after waiting since end of January, lights could be brighter for dark other than slight gold tint inside.

Hi Dave. Glad to hear you got your helmet. One of my subscribers said the Kermit green color is Master Chiefs new armor color in Halo Infinite. Seems like an odd change for the franchise but I booted up the game and he was right. Hope you enjoy the helmet and thanks for the comment!

@@ElderGeekGamer It’s kind of hard to tell which is the current. I have the Halo Infinite LE console as well as the LE Elite controller, and I think GameStop’s matches that 1 more accurately. But yeah, lights I guess are just for show.

Yes, absolutely. I don't know how they came up with this green. I've watched a few videos of talented people who made their own helmets and even they managed to pick the correct darker green. Go figure.

Master Chief’s armor in Infinite is a brighter green than his earlier editions, halo 3’s is much darker.

Throughout the armor and game editions, the greens have changed quite a bit, H1 was rich green with an iridescence, H2 was a light paler green, h3 was a darker green with a more pronounced metallic sheen, H4/5’s was a darker drab flatter green, Infinite went to a lighter mid green. When companies solicit items for production, they are provided an exact Pantone color from the Microsoft merchandising team. There can be some factors as why something might be “off” color to what appears in the game, one the studio devs might tweak or change the in game color or lighting, unfortunately hard line products get locked into a color months in advance. The other could be a production problem, which is on the manufacturer but it does happen time to time. Manufacturers work hard to try and keep foreign factories to standards as much as possible, it’s been harder than usual over the past several years with the global situations.

Oh... by the way I was supposed to comment on the helmets. I did see these helmets before and I thought they were crap! I know they are a "Halo" product but the one I observed and picked up in my hands. I had to tell my girlfriend to come and take a look. She told that my homemade one from scratch is a lot better looking and I agree. I have a full suit of masterchief, and it didn't look too bad when I wore it. But I know , it would look a lot better on someone tall. So I'm going to try and modify it to his dimensions, and see how he'll look in it.

I remember when I was a bank executive and all my fellow bankers were playing golf I'd be playing video games. Talk about pressure! I met a guy in Best Buy the other day and he was about my age. We both were in the toy section and he said he was spending too much money on McFarlane toys and his room was getting full. I told him he should start a KZbin channel and share his collection. I didn't know about the GameStop version. The only sound effect I like is the boot up shield recharge sound but I don't think that's worth an extra 40 bucks. And yeah that green isn't great, but I can actually wear this helmet and that's cool.

It’s painted the same so the only difference is the voice and sound effects along with a more premium looking box. Not much difference really.

I didn't think I would care about the sound effects either. Are they worth an extra $40.00? Probably not but as a collector I still prefer the GameStop one. I'll be giving a Best Buy one away to my subscribers so be on the lookout for that. I'm still under 500 subs and will be limiting it to the U.S.. should be decent odds.

Sorry I missed your comment. I got the mass effect helmet direct from bioware and the master Chief helmet from GameStop. I think you can still get the master Chief helmet from Best Buy but it doesn’t have the sound effects.

What material are the visors made of?

Hi Andy. It looks to be semi transparent mold injected plastic. The interior of the visor is silver and not the bronze color like the exterior. I imagine these are sprayed on after the mold is made. I tried it on in my game room with the lights on and it's like wearing a dark pair of sunglasses. Probably wouldn't be suitable for after dark wear like for Halloween. There is also a bit of distortion. In comparison, my Mass Effect helmet is a lot easier to see through as is my Doom Eternal helmet. Hope this answered your question. If not, let me know.

Hello! Both of these helmets are licensed by Microsoft and both are made by Jazwares. Looking at the Australian EB Games site the version is exactly the same as our GameStop one.The Best Buy version sold here just doesn’t have the sounds and has different box art. I’m not aware of any other licensed Master Chief helmets. Hope this answered your question. Thanks for commenting! I have the cheaper one on order, whether I’ll get it or not time will tell as Amazon has now sold out of them and might delete my order. I personally think the one that makes the sounds are a bit cheap and tacky sounding - unfortunately. I would be embarrassed to press the sounds on as it sounds like a cheap kids toy. Hi Paula. One of my subscribers got the cheaper one from GameStop yesterday. I verified they had them last night but they are sold out as of this morning. You might want to check them this week. Also Best Buy is out but their website has the option to notify you when they are back in stock. Hope you find one. I understand what you’re saying about the sound. I really need a size comparison of the two different Halo helmets, just like the thumbnail showed. Does anyone know of a review video of the best buy version? I have searched specifically putting best buy in the parameters; but no luck. There is a sale happening and I only want to get the cheaper helmet if it will fit my head, the store (EB Games Australia) said it was smaller but they don't have any physical stock to show me, so I have to purchase it online. Hi Beric. The Best Buy helmet and the GameStop helmet are the exact same size as both are made by Jazware. The only physical difference is in the packaging and the extra sound effects on the GameStop helmet. Hope this helps.

The helmet is 13” deep, by 10” wide, by 10” high without the stand. The ikea cabinet is 14 3/8” deep, by 16 3/4 wide by 15 3/6” high. Looks like a fit to me!

I ordered mine January 16th, still havent heard from them. How long did it take you?

I just checked and I placed my order with Gamestop on December 7th 2021 and they shipped it to me on February 20th 2022. During that time the delivery date changed often but I stuck with it. Does yours show in process? Unless it shows cancelled I’d say stick with it. So based on mine it took 10 to 11 weeks. So maybe another three weeks for yours. Let me know what happens!
