I don't mind the shield startup and breaking sounds, but the Chief lines and gunfire were totally unnecessary. I'm glad I paid $60 on Amazon instead of paying $40 extra from Gamestop for features meant for a kid's toy.

Fans have been making these helmets for over a decade. I'm not even into Halo and I would watch DIY projects making Halo armor on youtube. So I am interested if this is worth buying instead of making yourself. Sometimes dropping some money is worth the time you will save. The gold vacuumed chrome visor maybe worth the price. I can see recasters getting a hold of this and selling some raw casts on eBay. I was thinking Anthony could do his own custom paint job to the helmet. Possibly paint it up like the Rival Collectables mascot???

currently own a couple video game helmets. and sometimes ill play my favorite games on my pc wearing one of the helmets to add i guess another layer of immersion or a challenge while i game. ill do a playthrough on mcc with this helmet for example.

Nice review. Paint job is super rough but the beautiful visor, working lights and overall decent quality and accuracy of the build make this a great base piece for customising. I'm picking one up from a games store here in Aus for US$80. I'd pay a lot more than that for a rough 3D printed one off etsy or similar. Pop out the visor, mask up the various details and hit this with a new base coat and some weathering and this will be a lovely display piece. Not at all bothered by the sounds. Black Series Star Wars helmets often have sound chips as well. I'd have preferred it was solely Cortana sound clips or at least things that make sense coming from the helmet "in-universe" but they can be safely ignored if not desired. The key with items like this is not just to weigh it based on what get;s delivered but also on the potential to mod it or improve it.

The only sounds I think this thing should have made are the shield sounds. Those make some sense. The included sounds are mostly stupid. This is going to appeal primarily to people who played the Halo trilogy, which finished in 2007. It’s definitely aimed at adults. So weird.

The edge grinding, imo, is way too symmetrical, a helmet is not gonna have every single edge ground so evenly like this.

The whole sound effects thing is weird, why put in sound effects, surely if you're going to do something like, putting a voice changer in instead would have made more sense, or maybe make the A.I chip port on the back light up instead, I still like the helmet though.

I have the Halo 5 Triforce replica....which is an overpriced piece of junk. I've never been a big fan of Triforce but really liked their Gears lancer replica, so thought I'd bite. Nope. This, despite it's flaws, this is at least a semi-reasonable price.

they sell a version without the noise for significantly less... that's why it's an important part of the review. it also provides zero indication of how much Halo i've played...which is all of them for hundreds of hours each... until Infinite came out and was terrible.
