Jazz Drum heads! Remo Fiberskyn Ambassador VS Remo Ambassador Coated.

56 years of trying many heads, and I still prefer Remo Ambassadors. They have improved in terms of quality, but they were always great. They are the voice of jazz.

Sweet video, great chops!! Love the way your kit sounds. Very open and expressive. I like the fyberskin the best. I have a pdp maple shell with maple hoops with a fyberskin top head. 14x5. Tuned high, very crisp and cutting. I also have an early 60s Rogers powertone. Chrome over brass, with a coated ambassador top head. Also 14x5. Monster sound!!!

Great stuff! My snare is a Remo (Weatherking) Coated Ambassador. My toms are Evans ec2s with no resos cos it’s a Pearl Rhythm Traveller… ✌️🌻

Both sound great ! But I’m gonna choose the Coated Ambassador. Bass drum always tuned to perfection. All the drums really sound great always. Have a good one Drake.

What is that logo on the Fiberskyn head? Never seen that before!

It’s actually a stock head like you’ll find on a new drum set, that is a Cadeson stock head but it’s absolutely the same as the Remo Ambassador Fiberskyn.

Oh! Thanks for asking, it’s AKG p117 with a rode stereo bar using a “xy” technique. Bass drum mic is a Superlux PRA218A.

thats funny! i always tune to a D and a G, but despite yours being higher, our snares sound very similar. funny, i wonder what is so good about D. edit: also, if you didn't like the fiberskyn, im not surprized. you should try a remo skyntone! theyre much less dead than the fiberskyns
