Here's how I recommend practicing any odd phrase that will go over bar lines. This has been hugely successful for me: Step 1: Get the hands and feet to internalize the pattern first by developing a bit of muscle memory. Don't worry about bars yet. Step 2: put a click on and count quarter notes out loud as you play it over 2 bars. Make sure you're playing it correctly and not dropping beats. Step 3: do the same over 4 bars. Step 4: Do over 8 bars... Keep doing the extensions until you can do it over a 32 bar form. Writing it out over 32 bars allows you to check that you are playing the correct thing at that part of the form. Then try playing the phrase continuously while singing a melody like Autumn Leaves. Once you can do that you've internalized it to a point where you can feel it anywhere in a bar which is the goal. You definitely don't want to be counting this stuff. You want to feel it. You'll be able to start and end the phrase wherever you choose on any beat in any bar. This all comes from Ari Hoenig.

Awesome stuff! You mentioned two Swiss army triplets at the beginning but played two flam accents... Not that it matters but it makes the whole thing sound different! You could do it both ways!

Great lick. Working on it now. However, I do not see how this is a swiss army triplet. I've transcribed what you are doing on the slow demonstration and it looks like the second have of the flam accent repeated. I want to make sure I am doing it right. Please let me know.

Hey Perry. Sorry for the late reply! Thnx for the comment. He definitely played it first but haven't heard him play it like this in a repetitive grouping of 5. I'm actually going to do a vid with some TW phrases. Very similar to this. Respect!
