There are always multiple layers, often pretty dark but also often outright funny. To be taken with an "Augenzwinkern", a wink. On this pretty old video: The lyrics contain the simple question of marriage with the german version of "do you ... want to ... until death do you part ... etc...". To which the singer replies "Nein" (No). The band/Till stated it's about how he doesn't want to marry and be bound to a person. The lyrics also contain a couple of wordplays, most importantly: Hast/hasst - have/hate Du -you Du hast -you have -(sounds like "Du hasst" - you hate) Du hast mich -you have me -(sounds like you hate me) The video, like most Rammstein videos, adds another layer to the lyrics. Now it can be interpreted in more ways (interpretation is up to the viewer): 1. In a bros before hoes kind of way 2. In the marriage kind of way 3. as a drug addict who tries to quit his habit, but falling victim to false friends and drugs again, ultimately destroying his relationship Also note that this video ends with the band members leaving the scene/walking away. This is a reoccuring theme in many of Rammsteins music videos.

Rammstein plays with words. "Du hast (mich)" is phonetically identical to "Du hasst (mich)". First means "you have (me)" second "you hate (me)".Wenn they complete the sentence it turns to "Du hast mich gefragt:" Translates to "You asked me:" and the rest is the marriage proposal. German grammar is like "You have me asked".

From an old guy to you two old guys: You must react to the historical video "Deutschland" from Rammstein. Historically in two ways. First, it is one of the most elaborate video clips of all time and second, it shows a littel overdone and creepy the history of Germany in fast forward. Thje History of both german countrys. Rammsteins members are from eastern Germany. They are grown up in the GDR. I'm sure, you'll enjoy this extremely gordious film document of this fantastic band.

Think metal wise, I loved it when Disturbed done Sound Of Silence. The range in David's voice blew my mind. Love Rammstein. You should check out Mutter by Rammstein and just the ability of Till lindermann being able to sound metal without tearing the piss out of his voice. The end bit sounds like the old dial up Internet! It's a bit more mellow but still amazing. Thanks for the videos dude. Hope yous are well.

Well singer Till Lindemann is now 58 years old and the rest of the band is also fairly in that age group so they are not "that young" anymore. And that song "Du hast" was already released in the mid-late 90ties and is now round about 25 years old..plus minus a year or so..that song is actually already "an Oldie/Vintage song"

Thank you for listening to the studio version. I wish people would stop recommending the live versions of Rammstein's songs. There's thousands of reactors out there who watch their live performances, but all they can ever talk about is the theatrics on stage, they never talk about the actual music. Du Hast, for example, loses a lot of its punchiness and tightness of its guitar riff in the live version. You can tell because when people react to the official audio version, they always mention the guitar sound. But when they react to the live version, all they ever talk about is the guy on the treadmill or the big explosion.

To answer the question as to whether or not he kills her, yes he does. He knows that she's unfaithful to him (with the guy that's set alight by the band) and that she hopes the band kills him instead. He takes his gun from the bag, but leaves the bag containing an explosive device in the car. This is why she looks so shocked when the band emerges from the barn and why he looks at her with disgust. The lyrics are a play on marriage vows btw.

You should always listen to the lyrics when listening to Rammstein. It’s hard to explain: they are provocative, poetic, critical, sarcastic, funny,… Eg: in the chorus: Do you want to be faithful till death to us apart? No! You should take Rammstein not too seriously. Their music is fun, and the lyrics (in their native German) are chock full of double and triple entendres. They call their own genre, if you will, 'dance metal', and they are practically a performance art project, especially if you consider their visuals and live performances. They have managed to remain provocative artists for nearly 30 years now, and extremely rarely give interviews.

Rammstein has to be seen live cause they are a weapon live and the incredible crowd control is a trademark of them and no matter in which country they play, the audience sings in German like in Paris - kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2arcniwetBrh68 🆒 and after Rammmstein became more and more famous and at the same time expanded their show more and more, among others "Slipknot" said : Trying everything not to have to perform behind Rammstein. The action with the fireworks did not even take place in a stadium but in a hall ( Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy ) and would be unthinkable in America due to their immense safety regulations. If they go on tour there, the fans miss out on a lot and will never get to see many effects ! Another pure madness with with the audience - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nHLEenmLjc9nY5o At another concert, Til greets his band members, who are carried back to the main stage, with a "Welcome - Sign". A political statement for the refugees who have drowned by the thousands in the Mediterranean Sea. By the way Til does this specific move called "Til hammer" cause he had dislocated his knee before a concert and repeatedly hit it in the backstage area to bring it back in. The other band members found this movement totally cool so that he adopted it over for the stage ! Apart from the fact that Til is a trained pyrotechnician, at Rammstein concerts a special stage worker is very close to the stage and is connected by a microphone to the person who controls the fire. He feels the temperature on his cheek and gives corresponding instructions whether you can still step it up a notch or the flames have to be reduced. Please look at the live performance of "Ich will" from "Rock am Ring", which is one of the biggest festival events in Germany. The Ring, which we say, is the legendary Formula 1 race track "Nürburgring"(The green hell), located in the middle of a central mountain of Germany, the "Volcano - Eifel". Rammstein was the Headliner and there are more than 85000 fans on the target line and I was right in the middle 😜 😉 and not only the few thousand hardcore fans directly in front of the stage answer Til's questions, but actually the entire audience down to the last row - INCREDIBLE - kzbin.info/www/bejne/sICVpWaBhrKDhrs - (With Subtitles) 👍 ! At some point Ramstein discovered that you can make up with instant coffee. According to concentration, black to red spots appear, which looks like dirt or blood. Flake was hyper nervous all the time during an earlier tour. What did he forget ? That he was made up with lots of coffee in the evening during every concert 😂 - Maybe the reason why he needs a treadmill 😄😉 In my opinion without Flake Rammstein would never have been what they are. Again and again he is only moved into the nerd corner and underestimated enormously. What most people remember is only the treadmill he is running on while playing. Most of the Rammstein pieces are backed by a mostly inconspicuous but sometimes bombastically symphonic sound body combined with techno elements and so much more. It´s done so cleverly that it is hardly noticeable in the foreground. But if you take it out of the equation and mix it away at the mixer console, the rest sounds almost like any metal band. Together with the typical Rammstein monster guitar riffs the keyboards in the background fill up the entire sound, make things round, and not at least because of this Rammstein sound so unique. Please check it out - kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5uqf4endrxobqc Exactly this concert in Germany took place about 20 km from where I lived and you could still hear it over a hill in between and see the light show flickering in the distance. There you can well imagine with what volume Rammstein are on the road 💥🙉 🤯 This melodic sound together with the unbelieveble power that Rammstein brings over is also to be seen here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6KXYnmjrJp2fas If you want to see Til fly at "Engel", have a look here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIPbiGiMr8qiZqM Or look at this and just wonder - kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3fTm4CEgN2mpKM - This performance was nominated for the Grammy 👍🆒 and on the 2019 tour they go one step further. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIfVY3eqg6mDm9U 💥🌩 The song is based on a true story that happened in Germany. A cannibale looked for someone on the Internet who could be eaten by him and also found someone. Just google "The Rothenburg Cannibal" Totally whacky - kzbin.info/www/bejne/poO7nHePibh0oJY . Richard Kruspe tells the story in an interview on the DVD "In Amerika" released in 2015. First the police arrested Paul Landers off the stage and then one by one, the sound became thinner and thinner and at some point he put his guitar down and turned himself to the cops. For Rammstein, who had come together in the former GDR, the left dictatorial eastern part of divided Germany, America was in their imagination the "land of unlimited possibilities" in which you can do pretty much anything. Now they know that it was a really stupid idea to perform anything like that in a big city in the "Bible Belt" 🤗 In Germany, this kind of thing doesn't upset (almost) anyone anymore - we're a little more relaxed there 🤘? Rammstein pieces are pure energy and if one can keep his ass still while listening, you should see a doctor as soon as possible 😂

“Du hast” means you have but “du hasst” means you hate so when he starts spelling out “du hast mich gefragt”(you have asked me) before he gets there it says just “du hast mich” which sounds like you hate me
@31337flamer3 жыл бұрын
"Du hast mich." You have me .. and "Du hasst mich." You hate me. are almost indistinguishable ;) rammstein uses a lot of these double meanings. Also "Divorce" (Scheidung) and "Pu**y" (Scheide) are very similar and he actually says the promise of marriage using this double meaning.. even many germans dont even get it :D he doesnt say "do you want to marry her until death or divorce" but "do you want to marry the pu**y until she's dead". And he answers with "NEIN!" The provocation is intentional :D
