Thanks for the tip about Jazz and Coffee. Just followed. Clay Jenkins is a brilliant trumpet player who has been around a long time. I saw him with the Clayton Hamilton Big Band. I believe he's part of the LA studio scene and heavily involved in teaching. He's great, I will check that album out . Mel Lewis is my favourite drummer. I have that album and it's great. While it seems everyone wants to interview Kevin, but yours is one I will actually watch. Love Kent, and that album is stellar, have loved Dearie since getting her 1975 album in that year -- I reviewed just about every album beginning with that one, and she'd include a note with everyone she sent me, way cool. Anyway, thanks for this vid, I learn so much.

Well……it wasn’t just about new releases, a/b comparisons or top ten list which it seems every you tube channel does today. It was a lot about finding good used records in the wild and exploring different genres.

Great work you do. I have one suggestion and that is the lack of light. Showing us the album covers was all dark. Difficult to read the cover. A thought maybe have a light on above you and slightly in front of you. Cheers

It looks like you may have changed your camera for a dslr and prime lens? The picture looks great Ken!. Maybe try turning the brightness of your monitor down when you edit the exposure as it seems a little dark even with the natural light.

It’s a classic like most of his titles. He’s such an organic player and produced such as a big sound and he could play, but was also easy-going.

Was there a year where new jazz died??? All I hear are channels talking about the jazz releases of the 40s 50s 60s When did new artists die????

I never said anything like that. What i have said, is contemporary, jazz artist cannot afford to press the vinyl, especially in the USA. It’s too expensive.

And unfortunately, today’s temporary jazz does not feature the attractive, melodies and standard classic song formats that the music of the 60s did. It’s just a fact. Point out one contemporary, jazz artist, writing a melody on the level of a Coltrane or Lee Morgan or a Hank Mobley. There is a lot of great jazz being made in the UK, and they press it to vinyl.
