I'm slightly late to the party on this one. Anyway, very glad to have found my way here. Thank you for highlighting the perpetual nonsense peddled by contemporary labels about endless re-masterings of old LPs. Contemporary pressings are admittedly a game of Russian roulette. I have a Universal Music reissue of 'A New Perspective' by Donald Byrd. Side 1 is so badly pressed you can see indentations in the groove. Sounds awful!

He had it in an outer poly sleeve and the record was in the original waxed paper inner tucked between the back cover and poly sleeve. I looked it up on discogs and confirmed what we both thought. He wouldn't tell me which Goodwill it was. LOL
