Dillon, So, I have spent the last week slowly going through this video and checking out albums and listening to them. One of these videos tends to last me about 12 days of going down the glorious rabbit hole of music. You have no idea how thankful I am Dillon for these videos. It's just...point and shoot, you just can't miss. It's all gold. That Edwards Generation, 'The Street Thang' is so sick. And Calvin Keys! Far out. Australia is a long way from your shop. Don't think I'll ever travel that way. But if I do, I will definitely drop in and say thank you. You are into this for the right reasons Friendo. You are a genuine person. My Daddy used to say that "Jazz is what you get when you get Blues and throw it down a flight of stairs." He was way off.... Cheers,

Dear original owner, well done! This is what I call a collection: well rounded, tasteful, to the point. It's also good to know when to stop: this collection screams "mission accomplished" and it's probably the right time to spread these records back into the world like Dragonballs. I hope you had a nice ride!
@enders357 Жыл бұрын
"It's also good to know when to stop" - this is what I keep telling myself. Don't buy stuff just for the sake of it. Keep a smallish, curated collection. Swap out ones you won't listen to or are just there to tick a box. Thats what I do anyway, but each to their own!

@@enders357 what do we consider reasonable. I only have like 1500 LPs and maybe the same in 45s. Dudes that own 10,000 can never realistically listen to all of them again so when and where is the cut off for us lunatics? What do you guys consider as the high limit for a manageable collection you can actually listen to and enjoy. I swear other guys just having grails collecting dust. I know Dylan definitely listens to his and I strongly respect he opens his sealed records to listen to. I cannot stand the idea of people intentionally keeping something sealed! It’s made to be played.

I've been digging for Magic of Ju-Ju for yeeeears. Tremendous score. That Maggot Brain has me salivating. That The Shining soundtrack is gonna make someone's day for sure. Hard Hitter is a hard hitter. Black Merda is legit as all get out. I just bought a repress of that Warhorse repress from you, but that swirl is next level tasty. Original Cans can never be in the bins enough. Sooo much killer stuff.

Black Merda is one of the great "My Soul's Been Psychedelicized" bands. Other psychedelic soul LPs worthy of tracking down are Power of Zeus, Scorpion, Velvert Turner Group, Purple Image, Madhouse. The list goes on.

Quick question - and apologies if you've answered elsewhere - but what plastic sleeves do you use? And do you slip the record itself straight in there loose?
@noblerecords Жыл бұрын
I use 3 or 4 mil poly sleeves for the outer and mofi sleeves for the inner. Lots of people, both me and the guy I got this collection from, store the inner sleeve outside the jacket.

Yusef Lateef's Jazz Mood is worth the trip itself! Very hard to find OG. I almost bought one online, but it wasn't very well taken care of and the seller misinterpreted the condition. I just bought a 20's repress because I just had to have it on vinyl. It sounds pretty good but one day I'll get a nice clean OG. It's hard to get anything like that collection in California. They are either gone and in someones collection or being sold for astronomical prices. Awesome collection!

That Batman and Robin album that you pulled out at the beginning, (I’m sure you know the story/the musicians), but for those who don’t, that album is a collaboration between Sun Ra and members of his Arkestra and members of Al Kooper’s Blues Project.
