I remember in IDW that some bots get surgery to have eyes or visors like Jazz's. There was also a page where mouths were getting popular instead of just having a face plate, so some bots have it installed in them.

I really like the idea that the bots commercialize retrofitting as if it's a lucrative black market business. Animated had a similar concept called "shells" which were body-frames developed by other bots and tagged with serial numbers. Even though bots are forged with pre-determined shells while they are early protoforms, they can choose to have a spark transplant to a new shell. For example, when a bot is inducted into a police force, it undergoes a spark transplant into a "256-OZU-004" shell (which was used by Ratchet, Ironhide, and the Autotroopers in the cartoon).

I like & prefer RID Jazz. Because they give Jazz normal optics under his retractable goggles visor. Kind of like Optimus Prime’s and Wheeljack’s mask.
