Mulgrew miller was a fantastic pianist, he added so much to the woody shaw quintet. His wingspan was one of the major highlights of the 80's and 90's jazz scene. Another wonderful musician that was taken away from us too soon.

What a beautiful spirit...and incredible pianist. What I love about Mulgrew (and Woody Shaw too) is that you can hear the history of the music at the core of his playing, yet it's unmistakably his sound, very contemporary in the best sense of the word, and ALWAYS very soulful.

Jamey Abersold, a very big blast from the past! Abersold tapes helped me & my musician friends learn big time in the 70's & early '80's. I bought an Abersold CD of Miles Davis in 2002 with the accompanying individual instructional sheet music.

What a great story about Woody. i always wondered if I was crazy for thinking Woody Shaw is my favorite trumpet player (or Lee Morgan depending on the day, there are others for sure). Mulgrew was a great compliment to Woody.

Woody was no doubt the most advanced harmonically, than any trumpet players in our lifetime .Great story to inspire the younger generation of jazz musicians .
