Hear me out, the next thrift painting you get, scan it before you change it. Then you can make a video where you do this, and post a link to the scan copy at the end, and subscribers can alter it their own way and send it to you. Then in like 6 months time you can do a video featuring your favourite creations 😁

I find it funny how the fisherman and the dog don't seem phased at all by what's going on. Reminds me of the "This is fine" meme. 😆 While the transformation of the larger painting is very impressive and beautiful, I think I would have preferred if the beautiful green landscaped were turned into Narnia instead.

How cool is it that you go thrift store shopping and buy not only one but two artworks made by Amy‘s relatives! You should give her the Witcher butt painting too! Hope we figure out a way to paint over his creations as well. Then he will know the feeling. Someone put his heart and soul into creating that landscape painting. Undoing other peoples art is not being a cool artist. Not at all. It is being a jerk.
@jennypaxton8159
@jennypaxton8159 Жыл бұрын
@@seanorth If the paintings were loved and appreciated, they wouldn’t be in the thrift store to start with. And there are plenty of Bob Ross style landscapes that were mass-produced in China with fake Western names, and sold in furniture stores and such. Those never did mean anything to anyone, except a paycheck. And as we see in this very video, even loved ones of the artist may be delighted to see new art on top of old art.

Were there many who painted copies (not prints) of that painting you used with the river and the mountains in the background? My dad used to have that painting on a wall in his living room when I was a kid. I'm going back about 30 years ago.

It's a typical Bob Ross style painting. His tutorial tv shows were broadcasted worldwide, as you probably know, and it translatd into so many households having a painting with these 'happy' trees, a mountainous background and a calm river or two. Bob Ross' original paintings were never sold. His collection is still intact and archived, owned by his relatives. I've seen his granddaughter, a middle aged woman now, explaining this on a documentairy about him. She said many people wanted to buy an original, but the family rather keep them.
@BeardedSte
@BeardedSte Жыл бұрын
@@SlateTiara wow, thanks for the reply. That's very interesting. Amazing that the one I remember from so many years ago looked exactly like that. We had two of them. One was a winter scene, with a similar theme: river with a mountain in the background, but converted in snow. I've still got that one.

While the art piece turned out good and transforming an outdoor nature scene into an underwater one is a fun and interesting challenge, I find it really sad that so much of the original piece is lost. The only thing that remained was maybe the composition of the plants, but they were painted by Jazza so really nothing of the original artists piece is shining through the thick blue layer. This challenge should be about enhancing existing art, not completely overpainting and changing it. And it was such a beautiful piece too, just adding slight changes to it would have been so much better and more respectful to the original arrist. That being said, the other painting with the fire and paint splatters added to it turned out so so good and the burned edge looks amazing! Good job on that one :)
