Good demonstration. May I add a comment that helped me? Think of practicing rudiments and fingering books Stick Control by George Stone and Accents & Rebounds by Joe Morello with an attitude of why melody instruments practice scales: To get around on the instrument! You don't have to worry about what rudiment you just played. Your mind and hands have already accomplished their mission. You have set your mind free so you can play and interact with the music.
