After five years at Berklee and two PhDs this is the best lesson I've ever had in my life. This guy doesn't exist. I can't thank you enough; All praise to you, Mr. Cowings!

This isn't a TED Talk about communication skills, but it probably should be. Magnificent.

Using this method changed everything for me. I'm just starting out and had been trying over and over to sing "The Man That Got Away" trying to emulate Ella and Judy. Was always told I sound like Judy so I leaned into that but it wasn't right for my voice and where she add emphasis and dynamics on the lyrics, didn't work for me my singing sounded thin and false. Now I sing it my way with true emotion and that's really what I want to emulate about singers like Ella, Judy, Mildred and the wonderful way they sing with emotion, not their voice.
