JB1 review with 0-60 on different maps mk7 GTI

you have to make sure to press down hard on the brake and that ESC is also off. the revs should hold at 4000 before launching and it shouldn't bog down

I to am getting better results with the 4.8 verses the 5.0 setting. I feel the car is pulling time with the 5.0 setting. I got a 5.9 to 60 run on the 5.0 setting and then a 5.6 on the 4.8 setting right AFTER the 5.0 run so heat soak should have hurt me the second time. Not to mention the butt dyno tells me the car pulls harder with 4.8. I have a 16 DSG PP fyi. Also I got my times with a G-Tech pro SS meter.

I'm looking to tune or get the piggy back so this video really helps out! I'm not sure why you are getting those numbers, but I have a 2015 gti manual, with vw racing short shifter, turbo muffler delete and Black Forest shift knob. Everything else is stock. I pulled a 5.72 on a 0-60 and usually pull under 6 on average. Are you seeing any difference before and after the map change because it seems like something is off if those are your numbers

I like map 1... I haven't even changed the safety I'm on 4.8 on 93 oct. runs good!

HarryAmadeo15 I haven't logged but it's just good on 4.8. Just wakes the car up a bunch, feels like it wants to go. I have gotten epc occasionally at like 6300+ rpm in 3rd and 4th but I never even really shift past 6k. I've raced other tunes, ed, unitronic, and apr. I have beat ed and uni and some I'm right at their rear door. Apr on the jump gets me but I stay right there after they get the jump. And I've raced only dsg cars and I'm manual. Only manual I have raced was my brother and he's apr and a better driver than me haha. But man no complaints! I would stay on 4.8 to avoid epc

Ive never owned a DSG before so im trying to play with it to find a nice rpm to launch, because it always seems to bug down and slow down around 3-4k because of traction loss just like his car is showing. That kills 0-60 times big time. But ill see what i can do. Again, thanks man!

i think it may be heat soak that made the times a bit different... and i think its a bit unreliable to measure performance with times...

Yes I am sure that played a major part, it was super hot. I was just trying to get some basis of the difference of the JB1 options.

how do you determine when to stop the timer? looks very inaccurate way to measure

It is super inaccurate. I tried my best stopping it when I hit 60 but signals from brain to hand are always delayed. Even starting the timer is off. I should redo this with Cobb AP timer.

Rev'n Step yes, and keep in mind that tacho shows lower speed than in reality. only 10hz gps can give you accurate numbers.

Yeah most likely. I did another log at around 75F and the car is now dialed up and the logs look great.

2017 dsg mk7 here. the timer will start auto when the car starts moving. Don't you have this option?

What you should have done was to switch back to the first map after stock and see if you still got low 5's

Are u using a jb1 wireless adapter?

No, it is connected to the data cable. I just ran it through the fire wall. There is a video that I did with the wiring.

make sure to turn esc off by holding esc for 5 seconds. It shouldnt bog like that.

I was thinking this weekend I will give it another go when the temp is in the low 80s. I use this on map 6 1500 -2.0 2000-3.0 2500-4.0 3000-4.8 3500-4.8 4000-5.0 to 6000 6500-4.8 7000-4.8
