Comparing the Unitronic and JB4 tunes on an MK7 GTI at the track, Which is faster?

In today's vlog I take my freshly Unitronic Stage 1 tuned MK7 GTI to the track. I also compare it to when the car had the JB4 power module at the same track last year. Which one is faster? Listen to find out!

How are you only trapping 100? That’s what a stock mk7 gti traps in the quarter. Have you considered stacking the jb4 on top of the unitronic tune? Plus you can do boost by gear and get into the low 13’s high 12’s

Fastest mph stock wast 95.6 which does not reflect well in the "stock" timeslip as the board was having issues at the track. I am certain the Unitronic tune could have yielded more than 102 mph but I was severely traction limited. I had the stock all season tires and the track I go to does not have a very good surface. Now I won't have this issue anymore with the Golf R so look for some track videos once the snow goes away!

@@misteret5441 ahh I see, the car definitely definitely is traction limited and there’s only so much you can do. Are you planning on tuning the R?

Shifting too early in the higher gears. The power drops off at high revs but when you shift you are losing gear multiplication in the next gear so it's still better to shift higher. 6,500 rpm is perfect in the GTI.

merci beaucoup pour cette réponse...j ai une a3 automatique donc awd avec 220 hp...elle a 95000km et en parfaite condition et entretien minitieux..apres votre réponse je vais la garder...merci beaucoup...apr offre maintenant tune ecu et dsg....le prix a beaucoup baisser..499 dollar chaque....merci encore pour votre temps..

what map were you running on the jb4

Never went into the jb4 to check so stock one I believe 2

@@misteret5441 You could’ve been much faster with JB4. JB4 defaults to Map1 which is 4 psi over stock. Map 3 is the recommended for manual cars, it’s running 6 psi over stock with no boost taper on top.

bonjour.j ai une audi a3 awd avec neuspeed power module....donne quand meme une bonne puissance...j aurais aimer me diriger vers unitronic stage 1 dsg et ecu..apres avoir vue votre video ...je suis peut etre mieux de me diriger vers bmw 240i xdrive 2017.....quand penser vous merci.....

Votre A3 est Quattro ou seulement traction avant ? Si elle est Quattro vous verrez de bonnes différences avec un unitronic stage 1 ecu et tcu. Il y a une bonne différence entre une tune et un power module. Le jb4 est plus performant que le power module ce qui explique le plus petit gain dans mon cas. Mon véhicule est également manuel donc votre véhicule est plus performant avec la DSG. Si vous aimez votre voiture actuelle et quelle est fiable, je ne sais pas si un changement en vaudrait la peine mais à vous de juger.
