I just got a 2024 F350 platinum dually, HO powerstroke, and it has a sunroof. Absolutely love it. I thought about an F450, but I wanted the payload, the TPMS, and this has to be my daily. And as a daily, it’s been amazing. Plus, I got it for 9k off MSRP; no dealer is ever going to discount an F450 that much. My door sticker payload, BTW, is 5359 lbs.

F450 regular cab. That's my next truck. I'm going to kelderman the heck out of it.
@SliderFury1Ай бұрын
I think if you're going dually just get the 450. F350 SRWs have a really nice balance of payload and ride comfort. If you definitely don't want an F450 but definitely do want a dually, I feel like GM and Ram have Ford beat in that niche. But then Ford one ups them with the F450.

Just went through this same comparison and ended up getting a 2024 F-350 dually Platinum with the HO and 3.55 gears. Absolutely love the truck! Ride is very comfortable, payload is greater than the F450, highway driving is great too. I couldn’t imagine having the 4.30 for unloaded daily driving. I tow a 21k lbs Brinkley G3250 and the truck rides comfortably in 10th gear at 65mph. Having a better turn radius would be nice as well as the aggressive looking front fenders but other than those two things I would still choose the F-350 for my type of use.
@dougdoris8622Ай бұрын
Just curious if the 450 payload number is derated because of the 14,000 GVWR and in reality the truck can easily have a payload above the 350.
@sledforpeaceАй бұрын
It is always the GVWR that sets the payload. Take a Ram 1500 for example. Fully loaded ones have payload of +/- 1000 lbs because of the 7100 lbs GVWR but you can put well over that and still be confortable and safe.

Good stuff, I'd lean 450 but I agree no tire monitoring system does suck for someone that goes long distances and likes to see when you start losing air.

@@brianstotts4552disagree. I own an f450 and a f350. Towing all the time f450. Daily drive and tow occasionally then a f350 drw. F350 rides much much smoother. It rides like an f250. Fuel economy is 3mpg better on the highway, and 4mpg better around town, you can get 3.55 axle vs. the high rev 4.30s and you only need those if your towing 30k plus a lot, otherwise 3.55s are better under 30k.

@bryonsusedautosАй бұрын
I would go the F450 all day everyday and twice on sunday. Yes you lose alittle payload but you get 19.5s wheels and tires bigger brakes for more stopping power. The tires should last around 100k miles so in the long run the F450 is probably cheaper to own! Also the turning radius is great

450 all day long! The steering capabilities of the 450 are insane and it maneuvers way better in tight city driving and parking lots! Also the braking is noticeably better in the 450! Both are great trucks but the F450 is unmatched in my opinion!

F450 rides and drives like a truck, f450 does not, it rides like a f250. Tow 30k plus get a f450, under 30k then get a f350. Axle is to low for a daily driver, get an f350 with 355 axle. I own both. Towing an rv I take the f350, machinery I use the f450

Can you do a review on the 2024 Chevy 1500 3.0 diesel with max tow package.I’m trying to see if I can get away with a 1500 for towing.I currently have a 22 ram Cummins but it’s a bad daily driver. I tow about 12-13k lbs. or maybe even a gasser . It would be great if you can give your opinion. TIA
@JB-ej8zyАй бұрын
I had a 23 gmc crew cab with max trailering 3.0 and I towed my dump trailer with cargo it weight 10-12k easy everytime and it actually towed it pretty well but did sag a lot and I ended up getting a 24 gmc 3500 srw instead
@JB-ej8zyАй бұрын
And tbh if you are towing at near max I think your better off with atleast a 2500. I went 3500 cause the pricing was minimal.
@Frank-rg2bnАй бұрын
@@JB-ej8zy excellent! I appreciate you taking the time to give your opinion. Unfortunately I agree I kinda wanted a new truck to try out. The Cummins has been amazing with towing and fuel mileage. I get 27mpg when I drive interstate 95 @ 70mph UNLOADED. That still amazes me that an HD can do that. Thanks again.

I owned a 18 f450 dually limited, loved it but sold it and got a f350 dually kingranch rapid red HO. I dont haul a trailer all the time and my f450 was an overkill especially insurance is commercial and no one wants to service it cuz its a f450. I got an f350 dually as it suits my purpose better especially the 4.10 gearing is better not always having a trailer behind. F450 is for guys always hauling a trailer.

@craigwilliams1073 Not certain what you're cackling about (are you related to kumswalla??)....the 450 in all equal configurations has a lower payload....not to mention a much lower maximum payload. None of that mattered to me, still bought a 450 for the other objective advantages..
@craigwilliams1073Ай бұрын
@johnpeters9793 I know. It all depends on how you build the trucks. I love pickups, just wish the prices would go back down.
@johnpeters9793Ай бұрын
@craigwilliams1073 But it doesn't depend on how you build the trucks....both the DRW 350 and the 450 have the exact 14,000 GVWR The 350 with the same cab and powertrain will always be a few hundred pounds lighter. ...which means a higher payload And you cannot get the gas motor in a 450....which widens the gap even further . If you need to "carry"...the 350 has better numbers on paper. So why get a 450?? Tighter turning radius is a legit advantage. The bigger brakes Thicker rear axles 19.5" G rated tires...
