They make 7 pin extensions pig tails. Had to get one when I upgraded to the pro pride P3 hitch

I have that exact truck in blueprint. Coming out of a 2020 Tundra this truck tows wonderfully. The self leveling air bag are the best thing I’ve seen for towing. Load is always level. It will tow anything you hook to it within the towing capacity. I get about 12 mpg when towing. I was really caught by surprise by the 40,000 mile spark plug change. Mine is almost there and my dealership quoted me 485.00 dollars to change them. Hoping they made a mistake.

I'll change them for $100 ! Bring the plugs, let's get her done!

If I’m not mistaken, air suspension lowers payload capacity. My ‘22 Ram 1500 with air ride is rated at 1319 payload capacity but I’ve checked other similarly equipped trucks without air ride and they show at least 100 lbs more.
@vr4787 Жыл бұрын
My Ram 1500 Classic has a payload of 1781 lbs. Of course it’s a stock suspension and a base model Tradesman with extended cab and 2wd. It’s give and take.
@briandonald Жыл бұрын
@@vr4787 Absolutely. I wasn’t thinking about payload capacity when I got my truck so I pretty much loaded it up. When l later started thinking about getting a travel trailer, I realized that I have limited choices.
@Tony-hf9mv Жыл бұрын
Really depends on the way they calculate the payload. If they calculate using axle capacity then yes but if they have a hefty axle and payload is limited to suspension then no

I see you don't use tow mirrors Are the standard mirrors sufficient for rear side visibility?

Which is better solid front axle vs ifs for a daily driver

Random request: you covered kelderman a bit in the Luxe truck video. Carli is another popular HD suspension operation. Would love to see a comparison of the two company’s products, ride quality, options. There’s nothing on KZbin comparing those two.

Well that particular half ton configuration would be the one to get if you insist on towing trailers like that (crew cab with the 6.5’ bed). However it’s still going to push it. I wonder if where you got the extended tongue on your trailer plus the fact that hitch is sticking out that far is part of the wire problem? A standard tongue is 48” and yours is 54” correct?

I know it's been a few months and you've probably already resolved this, but it's cheaper to replace the 7 pin cable than buy a new hitch.

If you are in Tow Mode do you need to take it out of overdrive or does it do that automatically?

Very cool feature. I may need to get a new truck!

Looking forward to the towing video. I have the last gen TRD off road and love how it tows my Jayco ttrlr, 29foot. Interested to see how this one does. Nice video

Thanks, I’m sure the truck tows it well as they are heavy pickups 👍🏾
@chipd4299 Жыл бұрын
Damn a 29ft jayco and your exceeding the payload or max tongue weight? I had a 2020 crewmax platinum and traded it in cause it didn’t have enough tongue capacity for the new trailer I wanted. I went with a 2021 1500 Denali which has 1650 payload and 950 tongue weight capacity. Going with the 2024, 2500 now that they come with the 10 speed.
@armandoyourpersonaljeweler7558 Жыл бұрын
@@chipd4299 dry weight is 6k loaded is 7600 lbs. My tundra is good for 9600 lbs. payload and tongue weight are good but wouldn’t go heavier.

With my 2022 Toyota Tundra (Sport model), I towed my 27" North Trail RBK camper (@ 5,000 lbs) from Austin, TX to Houston, TX without any issues. Also had a passenger with me. Good truck.. so far!

A 7pin extension is probably cheaper than a new ball adapter and ball.
@tumbleweedking5668 Жыл бұрын
I checked Amazon and a 3 ft 7 pin extension is 22 bucks. Their was a 1 ft also.

We’ll those really low payload/tongue capacity makes me realize I won’t be getting a new tundra. I guess it’s 2024, 2500 with the gas engine for me.
