I suspected there is more to find in dimes than simple silver dimes which are relatively easy to find. And my extreme nearsightedness is very useful looking at dimes! I recently found a 1964-D Roosevelt dime at the grocery store, in the Coinstar reject box. It won't except real silver coins or damaged ones, and will spit them out into a little cubby where you can retrieve them. A lot of people forget to do so, though. So I've developed a habit of checking it everytime I go to the store. I also get a lot of foreign coins there as well. I think I have the bigger, wider "in God we trust" that you spoke of. Going to have it checked out. Thanks for your info.

Quite possibly the best one you've done. Loved the variety portion the most, as it encompassed so many issues. The silver and clad transitional error, along with the pointed 9, was great too. I'll be honest, in most cases I find the high MS grading and values, boring. I know it's where a significant amount of the values come into play, but it's the "in my change " aspect, that fascinates me. Just the thought of what you may find in your change from a coffee, always feels like a treasure hunt. Thanks for this one.

I agree I do enjoy hearing the grades but I can go on NGC or PCGS and look up the highest grades and what they're worth I can't find errors and varieties on there unless they're super popular assuming "cherry pickers guide" ect.

I know that the Sms dime also exists and it's easy to overlook, but I have about almost every variety of that year, and have 2 or 3 Satin finish because I've known of finishes for over fifty years and it helps with furniture as well as coins

My father bought a roll of 64 dimes, quarters, nickels and half dollars to commemorate the year I was born. These coins are immaculate and I’ve been told to get them graded but it’s LOTS of money. Any suggestions? Thank you!

they r silver 90% from my lcs they r charging 18× face value for what some consider junk silver I got one kennedy and three dimes 90% silver.

Suggest if you need to sell(just do 1/4 of them) to grade. Do in steps not altogether.

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I am new at coins but did buy a scall that weighs in grams. I found one dime that weighed 2.67 grams and another that weighs 2.26 grams. The rest of my dimes weighs about 2.5 grams. Is there a place that I can take them so I can get a better understanding of the value?

I have 183 1964 dimes and a bunch of other coins that date from 1964 and earlier that belonged to my dad and I have been holding on to them because I know very little about coins and I am afraid that if I take them to a dealer there might be some really valuable coins in there that I will not get full value for since I would not know.
