My husband and son are buried there in the grassy area. Also his mom, pa, granny and grandpa, brother, sis, brother-in-law and many many friends. I saw the them film the bar scene, day and night. My overnight film shop, B’s Picture It, was to the right of the Logger’s, on the corner downstairs. Goooo Summerville Bears! My daughter’s schools. She graduated in 92. I moved away so this was nice to see.

The Cornish were serious miners. They'd dig holes atop the cliffs above the ocean, then dig everywhere, including under the sea. There's a good 5 season British TV series called Poldark. It's a new series, but it set in the post "American War" era of the late 1700's to early 1800's.

A few weeks before my Dad passed I asked if he was sure about being buried at Odd Fellows in Sonora. He looked up at me and said "No, I would like to be at Carters Cemetery in Tuolumne City". I'm so glad he let me know just in time. It's close to his home in Twain Harte, and it is absolutely beautiful. The people keeping up this Cemetery are so kind. I look forward to exploring on our next visit.

Thank you for the memories! Reid Sanitarium - also served as a hotel. In the autumn of 1969 to June 1970 the lady that owned the building let us live there after our property/home sold in Soulsbyville. In June Dad moved us to northern Washington state. I have some wonderful memories of the building (snooping in all the rooms inside & out, tin type pictures & much stuff from the past. There was one tiny room hidden beneath the outside stairs.) I switched bedrooms three times, I can still remember the smell of my one room. My Mom was on crutches & the bathtub was up a large staircase, & we'd sent her crutches sliding down the stairs. There was a drunk that would come around once in a while looking for "Mom" - not sure who Mom was. I attended church at the little red church on a back street nearby. We played on the train at the park. It was a wonderful small life experience.

I had a lot of wonderful times all over that area for many years in my 20’s living up outside Mi-Wuk We had friends in Tuolumne and would travel the back roads from TwainHarte down to Tuolumne often!!!! > Tuolumne has totally changed a lot since I remember it way back in the 70’s in my early twenties. The Last time I was there was the when the big Fires hit the Sierras and from the town of Tuolumne all the way up to Strawberry it was all evacuated... I had time to drive around and see a lot of the things that were new to me...The big surprise was... the Casino! and also wider roads, and then add to that, housing developments everywhere on the out-skirts > But, the down town Tuolumne area was pretty much the same with lots of for sale signs & closed businesses. A page in history you didn’t mention was .... Mr Bell founder of TacoBell bought the "Westside Cherry Valley Railroad" and also The Mill & pond and was planning make an huge Resort Park and restore the Railroad and tracks and have passenger Steam railroad tours up to the high sierras. Bell promised to clean up all the Riff-Raff in Town. And Because of Bells plans the development the speculators and greed pushed property prices way up in and around the town of Tuolumne. But in the end... it was all just another flash in the pan as Bell’s Plans all evaporated and his Disneyland grand fairytale turned out to just another colorful page in the Long History of events in the town...of aka Summerville, aka Carter, now known as Tuolumne... Great job with your presentation, editing & production & techniques !!! Keep up the Good Work! Gerard
