It appears that curved protrusion above the woofer is a defraction problem which is unfortunate as without that I expect it would kick arse and is good/excellent as is.

I got these for $1000 bucks off cause for whatever reason JBL is having a sale until the end of September. I already have my home theater set up for movies and these are strictly for music streaming. I'm happy with them.

No HDMI is a show stopper for a living room speaker. Erin’s Audio corner’s measurements show these are not forward at all. Actually Harman’s text book 5dB drop from bass to treble. You are probably use to rolled off highs or a bunch of room sound (reflections). Just tow them out 20% and call it done. I would take the JBL 708p over these all day long as they sound the “same” and have actual EQ that is adjustable and setup is far more flexible.

Actually if you look at Erin's You Tube review webpage of the 4239P, he responds in the comments section in response to a question regarding 708p v 4239p: " The 708p was a great speaker but this one has some clear pros that give it the advantage IMHO. The bass extension is one but also the horizontal radiation being a bit wider is something I personally appreciate of the 4329P as well. The directivity is better with this speaker which gives it a better estimated in-room response without the flattening out of the HF like the 708p has." In the EU/UK, the 4329p is being sold at numerous retailers and has a five- year warranty (JBL consumer division) while the 708P (pro division) is only available at a tiny amount of retailers. It's also considerably more expensive (euro 2.8k per monitor at time of writing) than the 4239P (euro 4k per pair). JBL professional have chosen not to market/ sell the 708p here with any enthusiasm or conviction, in contrast to the USA.

@@JohnJones-yw3dm interesting on pricing. The $708p is $4000 a pair in the US. The 4329 is $4500 and on sale from time to time for $3500.
