We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning kzbin.infoUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

It removes all the limiters its not intended for bass boost, at 75% and above it'll distort and eventually the passive radiators will pop

but the surrounds can easily crack or tear due to the bigger pressure than they were intended to handle, therefore ruining the seal and the whole speaker in general

Though you are totally right about other JBL speakers, this doesn't happen here, and it doesn't totally take away the equalizer of the boombox it just de-limits the bass limiter that comes on @80-100 percent. Let me tell you why now that I own the speaker. On battery mode it is limited to 40 watts to help keep the batteries cool, which is important, because the batteries are deep inside the speaker and overheating can cause both battery damage and speaker damage. However, unlike their smaller systems, this one is capable of pushing 60 watts without a problem, much of that wattage being bass, the limiter is not limited when you plug it into the wall and it gets 3-6 DB louder when plugged in. This unlimited mode doesn't impact plugged in volume, but does help keep the bass up on the go. After 4 months of 5 minutes each testing of bass, Aswin Frn doesn't seem to have any problems. I don't think this matters so much, the rubber on the surround of this speaker is as strong as the active drivers, so it is probably only a concern of already boosted bassy songs to add it, and doesn't make to much of a difference anyway. I'll post a review soon.

Dude, is English for first language? It says do all of that THEN.......turn ON your boombox so that should tell you that it is off when you are doing this.

Just in case this was not answered, the ability will depend on a couple of factors; 1. the speaker should not be upgraded to the newest firmware; no substantial upgrades and, 2. This step only is available is step 1 was followed and that is, the speaker NEEDS to be plugged into a wall socket otherwise it simply will not work. The other little differences are, the "default" button protocol to access LFM changes when the firmware is updated. Even then, the speaker must be plugged in, period. After many tests on my updated Boombox, I stumbled upon the NEW "default" button protocol [volume down & play buttons] on an updated Boombox, I think. See, the only noticeable behavior was the power and jbl connect buttons lit up the same way. However, even after a butt-load of more testing, I have yet to find any discernible differences after countless tries which includes doing a few hard resets. Fortunately, I am still within my return window and will seek an exchange; crossing fingers their inventory will facilitate the exchange. For what I paid for it NEW, I'd better have a very good reason to purposely forfeit a savings of almost 50% off retail. With the savings, I bought a really good travel case for it. As the wheels of progress slowly churn away, I'll try to remember to share my results on my theory regarding the updated firmware being the culprit for disabling access to LFM on the speaker. I hope I don't prove the rumors to be true of JBL voting on eliminating access to LFM mode or worse, removing it entirely. To be continued..... and on that note, be well and be kind to each other. hey bro I just did it and then read that it removes the limitations limit set by factory, so I am wondering, if you do bt and vol down does it re engage the limiter ? or do the same motion again to enable the limiter again ?basically I want to ensure I dont fuck it over to much for too long, so I wanna know how to enable the limiter after disabling it, thanks bro, btw the bass increased is almost like having two systems however I'd say it's more like 1 plus an extreme 2 in sound

I haven't tried the Bluetooth and vol + but I have tried the Bluetooth and vol - It turns down the bass and increases the treble and it can then go louder. Then with a bass booster app I can up increase the bass and tune it to how I like it. It will blow your speaker if your not careful though

This beast doesn't need a "bass boost". It needs a battery life boost. Specs say 24 hours, yet every time I've been out with it I get around 6 hrs. However, this is with volume all the way up at 10. Still, even with the vol all the way up, it should get more than 25% of the stated battery life. I was hoping for 10 or 12 hrs at vol 10.

@@mstanford627 - In my case, at least, it may have to do with the audio player I use and its settings. I do have many of the broad array of settings on high. It's a fantastic free player you can get from Google Play called Jet Audio. For just around $3.00 you can purchase the Pro version, with no ads at all. The free has hardly any though. But for only $3 more I bought the Pro.

I believe you are "resetting" to break-in mode which provides max battery power equal to AC outlet power. After sensing break-in, battery drops to 20 watts per channel Vs 30 watts per channel on AC outlet. I have to "reset" every few hours for max performance.

Curious too - the DSP ( digital signal processor) is pretty solid in JBL speakers so probably not but can't say 100% for the boombox that has quite A LOT of power.

А ты вкурсе что это совсем не то. Та кнопка переключает колонку между уличным и домашним режимом. А эта комбинация включает режим разработчика и задирает низа на максимум. Такое работает на всех колонках jbl, по крайней мере начиная с flip. Но включать его крайне не желательно т.к очень сильно убивается колонка, да и слушать в таком режиме невозможно т.к звук превращается в кашу с пердежом. У бумбокс это не так заметно, а вот на том же экстриме, чардже и флипе колонке просто пиздец становится, у некоторых даже пасивные излучатели рвуться.

this is fake. he just turned the volume up, that is clearly hearable. also, to actually turn the low frequency mode on, hold the bluetooth and the volume down button for 10 seconds. (if the bass goes away then do it again, it will have more bass then.)

If you check your firmware and it's 2.9.0 they removed the ability to do LFM mode. Must be 2.8.0 or lower :-(
