While we wait for the JBL Xtreme 2 to get here, I thought we should take a look at the new JBL clip 3 since it was announced alongside the JBL Xtreme 2. And to be honest, the JBL Clip 3 impressed me right out of the box. The clip 3 sounds better and has a better battery life than the out going JBL clip2. Obviously the Clip 3 is no flip 4, but the Clip 3 is a good little ultra portable speaker for the price.

i agree the clip 2 is a bit lacking in the bass department(which is actually pretty fixable). however, being able to remove the clip on it and being able to let it float in the bathtub is actually pretty good. also not having the clip on the clip 2 as a fixed device is alot more comfortable.

Chris and co. But it's not connect plus. You can only connect 2 clips 3 speakers together, having connect plus would be pointless since anything higher up in JBL's lineup would drown out any audio the clip 3 produces.

I love your reviews. I know this is six months later, but I’ve been having an issue with the audio during phone calls with the Clip 3. The audio sounds distant and I can barely hear the other person on the line. The fix for this is to restart the clip 3 and then it sounds crystal clear. At first I thought my Clip 3 was defected, but then I bought another one and found it had the same issue. I’m using the iPhone X when making and receiving calls. Anyone else having the same issue??

Hey you can connect it to your old speakers FLip 2 or Go, Flip 3 even flip 3 is a decent speaker in comparison to these speakers. JBL connect + is a marketing feature to separate the old series with new series. Before Flip 4 came there was no jbl connect. They just want to reduce the sales of the old series. If you buy flip 4 either you buy flip 4 or it's next version. but any way thanks for comparison !!

If you flick the Clips sprung hinge several times the hinge pin will work loose. So watch out for that. Other than that it's a great speaker.

100% battery dies off real quick. I find it very annoying when they advertise 10 hours at 50% must of us are not going to play at 50% volume to me and they say that battery will last 10 hours I should be a 100% volume.
