Not much point to this if you leave out the critical part, which is that you remove the JBL bottom first, requiring that you remove the rubber strips first. At the very least you could have added the info to your description.

How did you get the top off with the four screws under the grill?

@OPAZ You started with the top off,, and said, "A series of screws that hold the top on." How did you actually access the screws to remove the top????? I am wanting to replace the power switch. I downloaded the the Service Manual, Parts List, etc., but there is nothing which tells you how to access those screws to remove the top. Any hint would be nice.

It's nearly 2 years ago now that I tore it down. Honestly can't remember. Have you tried speaking to technical dept at jbl

@@opaz. I do appreciate your video. Yes. I noticed the segment where you removed the top was deleted. I've hit JBL up already, right after messaging you. Waiting for reply. I'm thinking I may be able to access it by simply removing the panel torx screws right where it sits. I'm also trying to find out how I might get the Power switch in case I do have to replace it.

That power switch is generic to many jbl products. Should be easy to source

JBL will not do anything to help. They tell you to go to an authorized repair shop. They wouldn't give me a schematic. I got a bootleg one online. @@opaz.

I have the same jbl compact one. When i power it on no led lights turn on only bluetooth works but no sound comes out when i pair it. I was told that it could be a fuse problem. But I couldn’t locate the fuse. Is there an internal fuse for this model ? Thank you

Being over 2 years ago I honestly can't remember. I didn't look in depth on the board behind the operating buttons panel. You may need to open yours. If there is a fuse, it's likely to be somewhere in that panel location

Hello. Your help is very much needed. My JBL EON ONE COMPACT speaker accidentally fell from a height of 0.5 meters and the grille bent. Thank God everything works, but I would like to remove the grate and straighten the dent from its inside, do as it was before the fall. The dent spoils the aesthetics of the appearance. But I don't know how to remove the grille. Please tell me how did you do it? I really hope for your answer! Thanks in advance !!!

Telling you the gods honest truth George, I done this over a year ago and I can't remember every step When I initially done it I just attacked every single screw I could see, undone it and recorded where I got it from. Just do the same, mine is one piece now and still working fine. Make sure you have slim drivers. Traditional screwdrivers will be too big and make sure you have stubby drivers to hand. You may need to buy these but they will save you the pain trying to force your hands in between some sharp objects. Get a head torch too It is extremely fiddly and very, very awkward but your determination will get you there Hope this helps

@@opaz. Thank you very much for your answer, I understand. Unfortunately, there is no headlamp, you will have to buy it for such an important matter. When I have free time, I will also examine each screw. Maybe if you remember, write later from which part of the column you need to start, so as not to unscrew all the screws) well, for example, from the bottom or from the mixer? In your video, I noticed that you unscrewed the bottom of the column and the mixer. In the lower part, under the rubber strips, which are held on by some kind of glue, there are holes with screws. It is logical to assume that if you unscrew them all, then the lower part is disconnected, then you need to reach out through the column to the screws that hold the upper part from the inside and unscrew them. Or maybe it is that by removing the lower part of the column it will already be possible to remove the protective grid of the speaker? Can you remember how the mesh itself holds up? Due to what?

I remember some of the screws were a real pig to unscrew or even view, due to obstructions and my hands and tiny gaps. Some screws were undone blind with just touch due to the awkwardness of it all. Such tight spaces on such a small speaker The speaker sat in pieces in a black bag for over 2 months as I never had the time, will or patience to put it all back together Maybe it's best to live with the dent. It may suffer another dent, then it's back to dismantling it again Good luck

@@opaz. Yes, you may be right. This is what I got into my head aesthetics all that. Not so ugly looks to be honest, the mesh is really strong. But it will be a reminder that you need to follow everything. Thanks again for the replies. Good luck to you !

I am also surprised QSC haven't built a compact column array as they already make Acoustic Design Series column speakers. If they made a good battery powered compact column unit, they'd be on to a winner

Quick question, I accidentally pushed my father’s power button inside of his jbl eon, what do you think is the best way to fix it?

I've heard of the soft power button issues but personally not had the problems. I've no idea how to replace the button but if I hear of a fix process, I'll let you know

i had the same issue, i hit up jbl they sent me to a nearby audio speaker hifi shop. jbl ships them a new cpu board and they install it.

It is a "soft" button, not a switch. I assume people think they have to push it hard. Don't do that. You will break it. Press it in till it "gives", hold it, then let it go after the lights come on.

@@NVM_SMH hold for one long second and it will come on in a few seconds, some people are so impatient. You just have to wait for the magic.

Cant remember what I did last week, let alone over a year ago. A variety of precision screwdrivers, a torch, patience and unscrew everything you can see. You'll get there in the end

@Rafa Carreon I figured it out. You have to remove the bottom first. There are screws underneath the bumper strips and then pull the grill off. Once you do that it's a million times easier to work on. Not sure why that was left out.

abusolutely not, BOSE uses 3 fully range and a woofer crossover at 400hz, and JBL uses a small tweeter crossover at 2khz, totally different acoustic aproach

@@opaz. those are fake numbers, JBL did a bad jo on DSP DRC, sound pressure is not stable when DRC kicks in.

Somebody asked, those figures were on the website, I don't purchase through figures, I prefer the jbl (no tools to replace battery).
