I have the 305p MK2 and was looking to upgrade to some bigger monitors like the Kali IN-8 because I wasn’t satisfied with the bass, but fuck it, I’m getting the JBL sub baby. Seems like a bigger upgrade.
@matus3303Ай бұрын
Yeah, It is going to transform the system. If you want to upgrade to kali audio in series down the line the kali audio ws-6.2 is also a great option. But you can use any brand. The JBL IS SOLID option
@edkodeАй бұрын
@@matus3303 I did some research and it seems like the Kali sub might be a better option, even for JBL monitors. What do you think?
@matus3303Ай бұрын
@@edkode I agree. It depends on the price too. In my country the kali is 50% more expensive. In that case I would pick the jbl. If it is like 10-15% more I would get the kali

Hey, I have a LSR306 MK II and I just bought the LSR 310S. My problem is I to match the output level of the LSR10S to my LSR 306 MKII output level. I have to cut back the input level of the LSR306 MK II to 12 o'Clock to balance with the LSR310S at almost full till volume to get some decent bass. I listen mostly to jazz and I like to have some deep bass from the con·tra·bass or double bass as John Lee Clayton Jr who often plays with Diana a Krall. How can I achieve it? An external EQ, maybe ?
@matus33034 жыл бұрын
To get balaneced sound it is probably OK, I used a calibration microphone and I get even less bass. But if you want a lot of bass, switch it to XLF mode on the back or switch the monitors to input +4. I have seen a lot of people have this problem. I don't know where is the problem tho. You can read the manual. Everything is there. You can max out the volume on the sub.

Are both speakers set to MInus 10 dB input switch? If you use a normal dac with unbalanced rca out. (90%). I have 308p and 310s and I have them exactly the same volume.

What volume level do you use the Jbl subwoofer? And does the jbl have a limiter built-in incase we may push it too hard?
@matus33033 жыл бұрын
About half, not sure. I think there is no need to push it that hard at home but it probably has a limiter

For home listening, do you recommend to activate the XLF setting ?
@jungtarcph4 жыл бұрын
I own this.. It depends on the music or the movie. When I watch movies I sometimes turn it on, but sometimes it's too much. But it does give a kick to music and explosions and background noise and vibrations. Remember subs are not supposed to rattle. Just provide clean fast bass.

Hey man awesome setup. How did you connect everything to the PC?? Some DAC, and specify which one. I want the same sub and 8" LSR Monitors. I have Logitech Z906 for my Gaming PC, want a big upgrade.

Hi, I am using Focusrite 2i2 Audio Interface. When I was using 3,5mm to 2x 6.3mm jack cable I was getting some nasty interferance.. Now I have usb>Focusrite>2x 6.3mm Stereo (or TRS) Cables>LSR310S>XLR>LSR305 So you need 2x TRS or Stereo 6.3mm cables and 2x XLR cables
@docojb39166 жыл бұрын
so you have the 2 TSR cables coming out of the focusrite into the Subwoofer ? And then using the 2 XLR cords, you have them connected to the subs XLR ouputs into your monitors ?
@astro01256 жыл бұрын
Audio interface out to sub in ( 1/4 TSR to XLR male) x2. Sub out to speakers in (XLR Female to XLR male) x2, and you should be good.

I have the JBL LSR301s and the JBL LSR306 . The only thing I do not like is the JBL calls for the subwoofer to be placed on the left side of the left monitor. I understand that anything below 60Hz is non directional but at the corner of the room or so, the standing wave effect will make the LSR 301S more localized.
