Thank you for doing this test, i often wonder what's better for different types of music and events, i love House/Disco but listen to other things (rock,reagge,jazz,classical), so if i can afford the Yorkville i'll be getting those. Even though my hearts on JBL because of seeing and hearing them in so many set ups in clubs and concerts over about 20 years.

The Yorkville PS15P is by far by a long shot the most powerful of the 3, I've used them in EVENTS of 600- 800 people and these speakers kick hard with never hitting the limiter while playing hip-hop music. The 4400 watts of peak power really give you alot of headroom

Ev Speakers were built to limit fast , but that doesnt mean it's actually limiting. They do that so you won't push the Ev much. The Ev can be pushed more than you think especially when you cut out lower frequencies. Plus for Ev you dont need eq just only get a DBX Eq or Crossover and cut out the lower frequencies.

The EV speakers always have that open HF sound without any doubts, I never heard any speakers in the market that sound the same as the EV specially in the HF band, EV developed a very nice Class-D amplifier for the HF. the Yourkville sounds also nice. but at very high volumes the EV will have more disctourtion in the HF band. so I select the Yourkville.

Nice music! I liked the JBL over the Ev etx , I heard them both at guitar center I was really surprised being a big fan of EV. Also heard the Jbl srx 15” compared to the QSC k12.2, the QSC sounded way better, that was even more surprised due to the QSC was a 12” and the JBL was a 15” . The QSC look like a midget compared to the size of the JBL. Didn’t get to hear any York due to none on display. You need to post your track list! That salsa sounded good!

Problem with Yorkville is that the plastic case rattles in back at higher levels. Added steep crossover at 50 hertz but still there and annoying. May go to Ev.

stan bailly I have the same problem, love The Yorkvilles, even had them send me molding to insert into the screens, still major rattling at high DB.. I just switched to JBL SRX

1. You must subwoofer for good party 🥳 2. Only srx815 can handle alone but the sound is sharper 3. We don't like eq in laptop mode only in speaker 4. Sub is important but move the low to sub - is more professional .

The EV is in a different class than the others and is a better unit than the other 2. While I appreciate the posters attempt at a review...displaying things like eq settings, individual mixer/app settings and direction of speaker firing also play a significant role in an accurate review.

The jbl sounds crisp clean and is silky smooth and very warm sounding, the electro voice sounds clean but isn’t as smooth as the jbl or Yorkville, and the Yorkville sounds very neutral but it’s a very aggressive/ a very powerful speaker, sound wise I feel like it sounds bit to hazel for my taste, but wouldn’t complain much as it’s easy to eq that out, besides the size and weight of the Yorkville it can be a very solid speaker, would I pick it over the electro voice or jbl? Personally I wouldn’t

I have an EV ETX18sp. I bought it because I thought it would excellent value. It sux blz. It always lowers itsef after about an hour in, and that's with no clipping. After 2 years, the woofer went out completely and I had to have it repaired. It still sux with the same issues. It just sucks and I wanna trade it in for a JBLVRX918sp.

@@noelserrato If you're having those problems it's likey because you haven't set up your system correctly. You're probably peaking out your settings on your mixer or somewhere within your set up and overdriving the sub. I have the ETX18sp and it's phenomenal! Very powerful bass that pumps throughout your body and has the quality thump that you want from a sub while retaining clarity of sound. A lot of people don't understand how to get the best out of their speakers which creates the issues you've mentioned.

Itake the ev all day long - more clean- you don't have all the wide soundstage of the srx , but the sound is more clean 👌 more balanced- not loud in your ears.
