I own the 530’s. I play rock, blues and standard on them. I’m not an audiophile by any means. I just enjoy a little brightness, clarity on the high end and these deliver. Best $239 I’ve spent on speakers.

What a striking design JBL went with. These are so interesting and sound great at a low cost. The towers that feature the same tweeter baffles got excellent reviews. Would love to see you cover those.

I own these as surrounds and the 590 as mains in my ht setup. Typical JBL sound, which is great for HT but Ive tried these for 2 channel listening and I dont like how the sound. Neither do I like how the 590 sounds when it comes to critical listening. They look real ugly with the grills off too so I keep them in. They attract a lot of attention from my friends when the see these speakers, especially the 590.

I had 590 as well it was a very good speaker for the money but 580 is better than 590 in two channel set up for me but I love this 530 it just need space to shine, thanks

@@Tharbamar they are certainly not 'hifi'. Besides the cost, they are nowhere near the Metas, R200, 12.2, Evo 4.2, S2... rock speakers yeah, not for critical listening.

I understand, to me HiFi is differentiated from personal preference, I have a friend who replaced LS50 with Studio 530 in his office, he drives them with ML No.585 which I thought it was crazy paring but he is happy with it sounds real good as well, I’m also personally attached to 530 as well and they sound great with my class d sets.

@@Tharbamar well thats a huge deviation from the absolute term of hi fidelity, not saying that the original LS50 is a great speaker to begin with but as long as one likes it, thats the most important part.

I have own the 590 two different times. For the money great bass. And great dynamik for any pricerange. But the sound a little dull and lacking in the trebble.

Hello. I was wondering how you think these would compare to the Studio 590? I have the Studio 590 already for my large living room, but I want to do a quadraphonic setup in which each corner has a speaker. Could I use the 590's as fronts, and the 530's would match up decently for rears? Thanks.

Hi, yes you can definitely use them for the rear but I would suggest 570 maybe better choice, thanks

I still haven't decided what to get . A flagship av receiver from Yamaha or continue to save for the as1200 ? I would like to have to option of more than just 2 speakers.

For better sound quality AS1200 is great choice, it can do speaker A/B selection for two pair of speakers but if you want to do surround set up AV amp is a must.

I'm curious what you like about them and don't like about them soundwise? looking at them I wouldn't say that they ain't refined in the top end am I right?

Top end is more to do with paring components, overall top end is as good as it can be in this price range, also more airier and extension than any other in the price range. But some may preferred unnaturally rolled off top end like many audiophiles does which is not the case with 530s, otherwise I can’t complain for what it is, thanks
