Astounding! You ought to listen to Elvis Presley's rendition of this song & Unchained Melody , too! These folks are our icons for a reason! We have yet to see any entertainer today who could compete successfully with the Righteous Brothers or Elvis! This isn't really "old" music because it is universal & speaks of feelings man will have ( hopefully) throughout the span of humanity! It's important for young folks to listen to heartfelt music like this! It just may awaken their souls & they may just discover the true meaning of God's love within themselves ( & for each other, )in this seemingly soulless & heartless age! Just a thought! I really enjoyed your reaction! It gives us hope for future generations! Thanks!

I am 61 years old and grew up with this type music. I think you can see why we say, we had the best type music, No Swearing, No Killing, No Bullying, just old romance and fun type songs. You say you really don't care much for today's music, some of it is good, but only You can begin to bring music to the standards you like to hear. Starting telling the people who follow you and the word will get out to the music companies and artists. Only You Can Change The World Now, It's your turn.. Best Of Luck...

The Righteous Brothers... wow, righteous indeed; two contrasting voices that came together to form beautiful harmonious SOUL. Back in the day, EVERYONE thought they were Black... but does it really matter? Beautiful music is beautiful music, talent is talent and soul IS soul. They were singing t a small club, mostly Black patrons were grooving to their music, and a young Black guy in a Navy uniform stepped up to the stage and said, "That's righteous, brother, righteous!" And the name stuck. They ARE righteous and so is their beautiful harmony and their list of music. Those were the good ol' days. We're lucky to have recordings today to enjoy their music.

I was fortunate to be teenager when they were performing. Amen. ✨ No voice synthesizers, no control booth. Just the voices. To be honest, if thOse technological advances had existed then, people would have taken advantage of them. But they did not. So we were blessed, as they did not yet exist. And voices likes these, and others, resonated through the airwaves. As I said, we were blessed. AND ... YOU are BLESSED to have discerning ears and eyes ... to hear and appreciate what others have overlooked. God bless you, always.

I dont know if I realy miss Motown that much. Motown was the begining of the modern music industry and represent much of 60s massproduced pop. Yes, Marvin Gay was awesome and so was Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Jackson 5 etc etc. But there is a reason to why we can spot a Motown song a mile away, and why this dude relate this to Motown. There is a reason to why "Motown" is a sound, not just a record company.

These guys' music inspired me to like Motown, rather than the frivolous rock and roll that was flooding the markets at that time. These guys sang with heart and soul. @ShariSez1 add in the so called "talent shows" like american idol, where the louder you sing, the "greater" singer you are deemed to be.. how many times if you watch shows like this, you'll listen to some singer and think they are awful and yet the judges (themselves of questionable vocal talent) will then RAVE AND praise them to the heavens? and you think "HUH"??? ....NOWADAYS as well so many have no clue as what singing is, it's NOT about you (singers singing the national anthem anyone?!) it's about the song and being a storyteller!... nowadays so many singers sing the same way with the same emotion for every song, no matter WHAT the lyrics are or what the song is about!..
@tomschmitz5745
@tomschmitz5745 5 жыл бұрын
@ShariSez1 true, so i think it's a combination of the music industry and the public and their lack of "taste"... just like television, the question is are the powers that be only giving what the public wants and it's not their fault and it's the fault of the public who don't recognize anymore what talent and musicianship is? OR are the powers that be CREATING a certain need and forming the taste (or lack thereof) of the public?...

jesus, stop pushing this stupid idea that people can't make music anymore just because you can't be bothered to look further than mainstream radio for it. People are still just as good at making music, just not in the mainstream.
@lfcgero35
@lfcgero35 5 жыл бұрын
@@Chimponaut if you noticed i said not all and the ones who are talented never get the chance as they dont look act or sound the way the music industry wants them to. Over half the artists now are manufactured from the start. Yes you are correct there is plenty of talent out there if you look hard enough on youtube or other platforms eg the realak a young white rapper who found fame through youtube and hard graft. My point is you cannot compare the amount of artists and music of today to what came before. The 60s brought artists and bands like the beatles , the rolling stones , bob dylan , elvis , the who , the doors , the kinks , the supremes , the temptations , aretha franklin , roy orbison , jimi hendrix , stevie wonder , johnny cash , pink floyd , led zepplin , marvin gaye , eric clapton , otis reading , james brown the list is endless and this is just the 60s the 70s and eighties were no different the nineties it started to change as the last of the real rock bands started to fade as x factor and other tv talent shows took hold. You take my comment as a personal attack but its just a fact good new music is harder to make as it has really been all done before. The talent is there just a lot harder to find. Why do you think so many people look backwards because the quality of the music was more raw and pure. Music is all opinion based but to say todays music could stack up against the 1960s 70s 80s and most of the 90s is just not true. Please dont take offense as i understand your point but if you like to prove me wrong im willing to listen.
