There was color tv in 1964 but not every show was in color. Color shows were in in minority. Two color shows: "Bonanza" and "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color". On NBC every color show was introduced by the Peacock spreading its tail. I am sure you can find the Peacock somewhere on KZbin.

Yeah that's Bill Medley's natural voice - a rich, beautiful baritone, and perfect blended with Bobby Hatfield's sweet high tenor. There are probably thousands of people alive today who were conceived to this song.

They each had the vocal talent to perform as soloists. Medley sang the low parts with his bass-baritone voice, with Hatfield taking the higher-register vocals with his tenor. His voice reached the register of a countertenor..

Bobby is a countertenor. This just means he can hit high notes easily...he doesnt use falsetto, he has no need of it. Countertenors are the rarest of male singing voice. I suspect Roger Taylor (drummer in Queen) and Steve Perry are also in the counter tenor category.

"Lovin Feeling" BMI ranked as radio's most requested and played song of the 20th century. The short one is the late Bobby Hatfield, who did the solo "Unchained Melody". His version of that song was used as the background music for a love scene in the 1990 movie "Ghost." The public reaction to the song was so great that the album was rereleased and sold over a million copies many different COUNTRIES. Bill Medley, deep voice, is still going strong, touring and doing concerts. Bill and Bobby had an agreement that each would do a solo track on their albums, thus Bobby's solo of "Unchained Melody."

I was dragged to a Righteous Brothers concert in 2000 and was blown away that both guys could still sing. At that time Bobby Hatfield was 60 years old and everyone at the venue was shocked when he flawlessly sang Unchained Melody and hit every note. I know for a fact that they actually sang with no auto tune or lipsynching because I was the maintenance man for the venue the sound system was from the 70s and the only thing that you could plug into it was a microphone. Bill Medley is doing his farewell tour this year after 60 years of concerts.

The shorter guy with the higher range is the one that sang Unchained Melody; just a little difference in the hairstyle and the gap in his front teeth before he had it fixed. They had some great love songs like this but for the essence of the Righteous Brothers and why they were dubbed that can be seen on their old black & white weekly Shindig live performances. They were also known for letting it rip which is what I looked forward to each week back in the 60s. Try viewing "I Need Your Loving Everyday" and their Blue Eyed Soul moniker will make more sense. So many treasures of theirs to find and enjoy. Thank you for coming back to react to their music and their unique, incomparable voices.

Many people will say that what the Righteous Brothers had was pure talent. That's wrong. They start with talent and great voices, but then they put in a huge amount of dedicated hard work, attention to detail, and listening to constructive criticism to develop skills and harmony. All the talent in the world can't turn a voice like a chainsaw into a beautiful instrument. Hard work and skill could teach that voice to make the best of what it has, but it wouldn't change the fundamentals of the voice. What talent does is make the hard work give bigger returns.

Hi there bro. Thanks so much for doing this video. Those are their natural voices. There was no autotune back then, but something else, look at how they are dressed. Back then guys like that or bands like that not only took pride in their music but also in the way they dressed in tailored suits. You don’t see that nowadays. Just FYI, they aren’t actually related. The one with the deep voice his name is Bill Medley and the one with the higher voice is Bobby Hatfield. The way they got their name was when they did a gig down south after they were finished a member of the audience stood up and shouted “that’s righteous brother “and that’s how they got their name. Thank you so much for doing this video. Please take care and blessings to you from the UK.
